Norma Jean Smith was born September 23, 1933 at Salem, Missouri and
passed away July 14, 2010 in St. Charles, Missouri at the age of seventy-six
years.
On January 8, 1956, Jean Gibbs was united in marriage to Harvey Allen
Smith and to this marriage two children were born.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and being a wife, mother, and grandma.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Arch and Clarice (Bailey)
Gibbs; two sisters, Mary Thompson and Hildred Carmack; two brothers, Elmo
Gibbs and Kenneth Gibbs.
Survivors include: her husband, Harvey Smith of Lake St. Louis,
Missouri; two children: Pam Huelskoetter and husband, Michael, of Lake St.
Louis, Missouri and Mark Smith; two brothers: Lavern Gibbs and wife, Leona
of Springfield, Missouri and Charles Gibbs and wife, Leah of Salem, Missouri;
one daughter-in-law, Marsha Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren:
Kyle Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Melissa Morgan of Lake St. Louis, Missouri,
Melanie Morgan of Wentzville, Missouri, Chad Smith of Seattle, Washington,
Josh Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Madison Huelskoetter of Lake St. Louis,
Missouri and Sean Huelskoetter of Lake St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral service for Jean Smith was July 17, 2010 in the Wilson Mortuary
Salem Chapel with Pastor Barry Ivie officiating. Special musical selections
were played. Serving as pallbearers were: Kyle, Chad, and Josh Smith, Mike
and Sean Huelskoetter, Nick Crawford, and Nathan Franklin. Interment was
in the Edgar Cemetery.
