Darlene (Schrader) Wethy

Darlene (Schrader) Wethy was born April 2, 1947, in Granite City, Illinois, to William and Georgia. She grew up in Salem, Missouri, and on April 3, 1965, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gerald Wethy. Darlene and Gerald were blessed with fifty-eight years of marriage and lasting memories. She was the proud mother of three daughters: Bonnie, Connie, and Mary. Darlene was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren. During her working career, Darlene worked at the International Shoe Factory for several years and as a carpet cleaner. Although her fondest moments were as a homemaker caring for her home and raising her family. In her spare time, she liked to embroider. Dalene enjoyed nature and loved porch sitting watching the deer and hummingbirds. Darlene departed this life October 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Salem, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years. Those left behind to treasure her memory include loving husband: Gerald Wethy of Salem, MO; daughters: Bonnie Friese and Don, Connie Hall and John Freeman, and Mary Mason; brothers: Allen Schrader and Jim Conduitt; sisters: Carmeletta Mendez and Rafael, Ellen Hedgcoth and Mike, Pat Dockery and Vernon, and Allene Love; grandchildren: Kim Burgess, John Burgess, Jerry Hall and Paige, Tabitha Hall, Scott Friese and Jessie, Tyler Paxton and Megan, Bill Muskgrove, Bow Friese, and Jen Benart and Nate; great-grandchildren: Saylor and Maren and many more; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Preceding her in death, father: William Schrader and wife Alice; mother: Georgia (Pace) Conduitt and husband Jim; brothers: Donald Schrader, Arthur Schrader, Larry Schrader, Gary Conduitt, Dwight Schrader, and Darrel Schrader; and sisters: Debbie and Cheryl Schrader. Darlene was a lady of faith and will be remembered for her sweet spirit and kind nature. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Memorial Services for Darlene (Schrader) Wethy were held Sunday, October 15, 2023, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Aaron Steelman officiating. Song selections played were “Darlene”, “Amazing Grace”, “Butterfly Kisses”, “Dancing in the Sky”, and “Old Time Rock N Roll”.
