David Alan Newton

David Alan Newton was born February 3, 1983, in Rolla, Missouri. He was one of two sons born to Roger and Teneke. David grew up in Rolla and graduated with the class of 2001 from Rolla High School. On March 26, 2013, David was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ashley Marie Hendrix, while in New Orleans, Louisiana. They shared ten years of marriage and memories together. David and Ashley were blessed with one son: Canon, who they were extremely proud of. David was a hard worker and passionate about his career. He was a dedicated employee with Vee-Jay Cement as a concrete finisher. David was incredibly talented in his work and a member of the Cement Masons Local 527. He was a handyman, always kept himself busy, and liked building furniture in his spare time. David was an avid outdoorsman, finding his way to the woods or the water every chance he got. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing, he was found grilling or spending time in the kitchen cooking. David liked playing a good game of gin rummy. He enjoyed attending high school basketball games, family road trips, and making memories with his family and friends. David passed away May 1, 2023, at the age of forty years. Those left to treasure his memory are his wife: Ashley (Hendrix) Newton of St. James, MO; mother: Teneke Hill of Rolla, MO; father: Roger Newton and wife Linda of Doolittle, MO; brother: Jason Newton and wife Jessica of Rolla, MO; grandmothers: Margarite Hill of Oklahoma and Shirley Hahn of Duke, MO; uncle: Garry Newton and wife Bobbie of Rolla, MO; mother-in-law: Mary Wieners of Laquey, MO; favorite cousin: Kris Sutton of Newburg, MO; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, numerous in-laws, extended family, and special friends. Preceding him in death, his son: Canon Newton; Canon’s partner-in-crime: Tom Miller; cousin: Mike Newton; and his grandfather: Murl Hahn. David leaves behind long-lasting memories that will be treasured by those who loved him most. He will be remembered for his firm handshake, one-of-a-kind personality, and love for nature. He will be forever missed. Funeral Services for David Alan Newton were held Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Null and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Hendrix and Pastor Don Carson officiating. Song selections played were "Something in the Orange", "Give Heaven Some Hell", and "Broken Halos". Serving as Pallbearers were Randy Wagner, Chris Russ, Ted Hancock, Brant Shockley, Toby Hardey, Alex Kyle, Chad Sargent, and Scott Stoddard. Honorary Pallbearers were Jason Newton, Zane Newton, Reni Newton, Ryan Sinnott, Ryan Terry, Brandon Sutton, Devin Drew, and Tyler Newton. Burial was in the Pea Ridge Cemetery, Doolittle, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of David Newton and left at the funeral home.
