Donald Gene Bounds

Donald Gene Bounds was born June 6, 1954, in Lutesville, Missouri, to Arthur William and Margarete (Beckham) Bounds. He grew up and attended school in Bunker, Missouri. On July 19, 1986, Donald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marilynn Fay (Rolufs). Together they enjoyed nearly thirty-seven years of marriage, laughter, and memories. Donald and Marilynn were blessed to share three children: Greg, Robbie, and Heather. Donald was an over the road truck driver for forty years. He was a great provider to his family and a highly dedicated and competent driver. Throughout his career, he owned his own truck for a time and worked for St. James Transport. An avid outdoorsman, Donald liked deer hunting and backroad jeeping. He truly enjoyed visiting the casinos and has hit several jackpots at the slots. Donald treasured his family and cherished the time spent with them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his world. Donald entered into eternal rest June 16, 2023, at his home in Lecoma, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years. Those left to treasure his memory are his loving wife: Marilynn Bounds of Lecoma, MO; children: Greg Pippert and wife Barbee of Bland, MO, Robbie Don Bounds and wife Julie of Salem, MO; and Heather (Bounds) Henson and husband James of Rolla, MO; siblings: Pat Arnett and husband Curt of Bunker, MO, Wayne James and wife Connie of Fredericktown, MO, Dennis Bounds and wife Jan of Salem, MO, and Charles Bounds of Bunker, MO; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, his parents: Arthur and Margarete Bounds; brother: Roy; sister: Shirley; and his grandson: Kory Don Bounds. Donald will be remembered for his witty personality and good sense of humor. He was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Memorial Gathering for Donald Gene Bounds was held Friday, June 23, 2023, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
