Emma Dean (Lunn) Russell

Emma Dean (Lunn) Russell was born February 14, 1932 in Rhyse, Missouri to Edward B. and Alta (Floyd) Lunn. She grew up and attended school in Salem, Missouri. Dean was united in marriage to Callie A. “Dick” Russell on December 22, 1973 and together they shared thirty-five years of marriage. Dean and Dick were blessed with one daughter, Tina. Dean took great pride in raising her daughter and worked hard to help provide for her family. Her working years include time at the International Shoe Factory and the Sears Store. Dean was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, and doting grandmother. Her daughter and grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and moved to La Plata in 2010 to be closer to them. Dean was gifted with talented hands and loved sewing; she made several outfits for her daughter in her younger years and then crib quilts for her grandchildren later in life. Dean liked spending time outdoors flower gardening, porch sitting, and visiting neighbors. She was a lady of great faith and longtime member of Salem Christian Church. Dean loved reading her Bible and fellowshipping with others. Dean departed this life October 13, 2021 in La Plata, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter: Tina M. Belfield and husband Jason of La Plata, MO; granddaughters: Addison and Audrey Belfield of La Plata, MO; grandson: Kade Belfield of La Plata, MO; sisters: Marie Robnett and Bonnie Berry of Salem, MO; brother: Leo Lunn and wife Sue of Salem, MO, sister-in-law: Carlene Lunn of Salem, MO; stepdaughters: Patricia A. Mustard and husband Charles of Springfield, MO and Carol M. Russell of Bolivar, MO; stepson: Callie A. Russell Jr. and wife Barbara of Springfield, MO; step-granddaughters: Julia Givens-Cover of Lebanon, MO, Ashley Parker and Becky Hunter of Springfield, MO; step-grandsons: Billy Parker Jr. and Travis Russell of Salem, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death, husband Callie A. “Dick” Russell; parents: Edward and Alta Lunn; brother: Leon Lunn; brothers-in-law: Sherrill Robnett, Otis Berry, and O.O. “Tod” Russell; sister-in-law: Margaret Russell. Dean will be remembered for her sweet spirit and gentle nature. Her love and kindness will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Emma Dean (Lunn) Russell were held Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Tim Hill officiating. Song selections played were “In The Garden”, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow”, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”, and “How Great Thou Art”. Serving as Pallbearers were Kent Inman, James Lunn, Mark Lunn, Terry Berry, Keith Lunn, and Larry Robnett. Honorary Pallbearers were Addison Belfield, Audrey Belfield, Kade Belfield, Andrew Fleak, and Steve Berry. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Emma Dean Russell to the Salem Christian Church and left at Wilson Mortuary.
