Eula Gladene (Miner) Volner

Eula Gladene (Miner) Volner was born on October 17, 1931, in Buick, Missouri to Columbus Otto and Nellie Victoria (Camden) Miner and passed away on October 18, 2020, in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years. Gladene grew up and attended school in Buick, Missouri. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Billie Francis Volner, on November 15, 1952, and together shared fifty-five years of memories before his passing on February 14, 2007. Gladene and Billie were blessed with three children: Bruce, Charles, and Rhonda. Gladene was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family and tending to her home. She was a dedicated wife and proud mother of her children. In her early years, Gladene worked part-time at the International Shoe Factory. Gladene was a quiet lady who mostly kept to herself and enjoyed working around her house. She was happiest when she was working with her hands; she liked to sew and was very talented in her work. Gladene was a woman of faith and a longtime member of Grace Community Church. Most important to her was her family, she cherished the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. Gladene is survived by her loving sons: Bruce D. Volner and wife Tammy of Republic, MO and Charles L. Volner of Salem, MO; sisters: Hattie Brooks, Imogene Decker and husband Jim, Cora Norris and husband Richard, and Verla Abney; grandchildren: Riley Brown, Megan Volner, Camron Volner, Justin Volner, and Michael Volner and wife Jessica; great-grandson: Leland; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: Billie Francis Volner, infant daughter: Rhonda Elaine Volner; parents: Columbus and Nellie Miner; brothers: David and Troy Miner; sisters: Maxine Nelson and Lily Martin. Gladene leaves behind a legacy of honor and love for her family. Gladene will be forever remembered and deeply missed. Funeral Services for Eula Gladene (Miner) Volner were held Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Lyndell Decker officiating. Song selections played were special recordings from the family. Serving as Pallbearers were her loving family and friends. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Eula Gladene Volner to the ALS Foundation and left at Wilson Mortuary.
