Frank Loyd

Frank “Frankie” Loyd was born December 22, 1936 in Gibson City, Illinois to Owen and Sally (Morgan) Loyd and passed away February 23, 2021 at his home in Gladden, Missouri surrounded by his loving family at the age of eighty-four years. Frankie grew up and attended school in Illinois. He was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Bernie Gale Wedding, on January 28, 1956 and together shared sixty-five years of memories. Frankie and Bernie were blessed with four children: Jim, Randy, Frank Jr., and Theresa. Frankie was a hard worker and enjoyed working with heavy equipment, especially his dozer, he was employed with Operating Engineers until his retirement. Frankie had talented hands and was able to fix just about anything. In his younger years, he loved tinkering on cars and building hot rods. In his spare time, Frankie loved watching television and spending time with his family. He deeply cherished his grandchildren and adored his great-granddaughter. Frankie is survived by his loving wife Bernie Gale Loyd of the home; sons: Jim Loyd and wife Demea of South Carolina and Frank Loyd Jr. of Gladden, MO; daughter: Theresa Suhling of Gladden, MO; grandson: Mike Suhling and wife Hallie and Larry Paul Suhling; great-granddaughter: Emma Jo Suhling; special nephews: Daniel Watkins and Dewey Veal; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death, his son: Randy Loyd; parents: Owen and Sally Loyd; and his brothers and sisters. Frankie was deeply loved by his family and is leaving behind a lot of beautiful memories; he will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Frank “Frankie” Loyd were held Monday, March 1, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Roger Schafer officiating. Special Music was provided by Roger Schafer singing “Amazing Grace” and additional song selection played was “I Saw The Light”. Serving as Pallbearers were his dear friends. Burial was in the Gladden Empire Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
