Galand Scott Parker

Galand Scott Parker was born on March 6, 1998, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Quinlan, Texas and graduated from Boles High School with the Class of 2017. After moving to Missouri, Scott fell in love with Tessa Hedrick, she was his best friend and the love of his life. On April 3, 2021 after a year and a half of dating, he asked her to be his wife. She said yes, and they were planning their wedding for September 25, 2021. Scott was currently working at Great Circle Children’s Home as a Youth Specialist and previously worked for Faith Foundation Children’s Home. He was kind, loving, compassionate, and truly had a gift for helping children. Scott was a man of faith and active member of Peneul Fellowship Church. His passion for children led him to help with church camp and other church activities. Scott was musically anointed and enjoyed playing his guitar. Scott loved spending time with his fiancé and future family, especially playing with his niece and nephews. Family and friends were very important to him and he valued the time spent with them. He enjoyed playing video games and listening to music. Scott departed this life on September 20, 2021, in Steelville, Missouri at age of twenty-three years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his fiancé: Tessa Hedrick of Steelville, MO; mother: Renee Parker of Texas; siblings: Justin Parker and fiancé Estefania of Texas and Bailey Tutt of Texas; grandmother: Susan Holloway of Texas; future father and mother-in-law: Steve and Lisa Hedrick of East End, MO; future grandparents: Steve and Linda Hedrick of East End, MO and Marie Asher of East End, MO; future sister-in-law: Stephanie Hedrick of East End, MO; future nephews and niece: Gunner, Hensley, and Lucas Henson; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding him in death, grandfather: Elmer Lee Fitzgerald Jr; step-grandfather: Donald Lee Holloway; future grandfather: Jim Asher; and his great-grandparents. Scott will be forever missed by his family and friends. His contagious smile and unforgettable laugh will live on in the lives he touched along the way. Funeral Services for Galand Scott Parker were held Monday, September 27, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Pastor Larry Booth officiating. Song selections played were “Scars In Heaven”, “You Made It Easy”, “I Can Only Imagine”, and “The Only One Who Gets Me”. Serving as Pallbearers were Justin Parker, Steve Hedrick, Justin Dewayne, Matthew Moyer, Dorothy Moyer, and Jim Hunter. Honorary Pallbearers were Don Boyle, Shellee Boyle, Gunner Henson, Hensley Henson, and Lucas Henson. Burial was in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Scott Parker and left at Wilson Mortuary.
