John Wayne Hendricks

John Wayne Hendricks was born January 13, 1947 in Aurora, Missouri. He grew up on the family farm in Aurora and graduated with the class of 1965 from Aurora High School. John was united in marriage July 3, 1971 to the love of his life, Paula Jean Rauschelbach. They shared forty-seven years of memories together before her passing March 19, 2018. John and Paula were blessed with one daughter: Maleah and later blessed with two grandchildren: Zayda and Carter. John furthered his education at Mizzou obtaining his master’s degree in Journalism. He spent the majority of his decades-long teaching career with Salem R-80 teaching High School English. John was always encouraging and kind to the students and left a lasting impact on their lives. He also taught College English at the SBU Salem Campus. John’s family was most important to him. He cherished his grandbabies and loved playing board games and watching Christmas movies with them. He deeply loved spending time with them and treasured the memories they made together. John was a man of great faith. He was currently attending Stonebrooke with his family and had previously attended New Harmony Church and Salem First Baptist. His faith in the Lord was evident to those around him. John departed this life November 3, 2022 in Waynesville, Missouri at the age of seventy-five years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and caring daughter: Maleah Bansemer and husband Cody of Waynesville, MO; grandchildren: Zayda and Carter; sister: Mary Davis and husband Johnny of Monett, MO; brother-in-law: Kenny Rauschelbach of Aurora, MO; as well as several dear friends. Preceding him in death, his wife: Paula Hendricks and his parents: Fred and Lorita Hendricks. John was always cheerful and ready with a joke. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit and warm heart. John will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for John Wayne Hendricks were held Friday, November 11, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor David Gidcumb officiating. Song selections played were “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” and “Amazing Grace”. Serving as Pallbearers were his loving family and dear friends.
