Lillian "Lily" Marie McCarter

Lillian “Lily” Marie McCarter was born on September 14, 2020, in Rolla, Missouri to Jeremy Tyler and Emily Margaret (Curley) McCarter. From that day forward she was full of life, love and laughter. She was raised in Salem, Missouri along with her two brothers, William and Samuel. Lily was a beautiful little red headed firecracker. She had a strong personality, she loved to tell you “no” and to “go away”. She was full of curiosity, always asking “why?”. Lily was the boss. Lily was always on the go and full of boundless energy. She loved to play outside on the swing set with her brothers. She liked to hide and sometimes in the most peculiar places. Lily enjoyed spending time with her cousins, especially Maggie who was her best friend. They loved dressing up and playing with baby dolls. Lily treasured the time spent making memories with her family. She truly enjoyed attention from her doting grandparents and keeping her mommy and daddy on their toes. Lily loved ice cream and eating sweet peppers with her mommy. She was happy, very goofy, and full of spunk. Lily knew how to light up the room with her sweet smile and contagious laugh. She liked loving on kittens, and truly loved to sing and dance. Lily enjoyed every minute of every day. Lily entered the arms of Jesus on June 15, 2022 at the age of twenty-one months. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, loving parents: Jeremy and Emily McCarter of Salem, MO; brothers: William Tyler and Samuel Paul; grandparents: Chris and Sheila Curley of Salem, MO, Joe and Holly McCarter of Salem, MO, and Melissa Wisdom of Salem, MO; great-grandparents: Jerry and Linda Nalley of Overland Park, KS and Bill and Barb McCarter of Salem, MO; aunts and uncles: Cody and Lydia Harris of Salem, MO, Brandon and Gabby McCarter of Salem, MO, and Joseph McCarter of Salem, MO; cousins: Addison, Margaret, and Chase; extended family and friends. Lily is preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Larry Curley and Paul and Margaret Sullivan. Lily was our mean mugging little princess who earned her angel wings before we were ready to let her fly. Although her time on earth was short, her life had meaning and beauty that undoubtedly forever changed the lives of her family. She touched many hearts and her memory will be forever cherished. Funeral Services for Lillian “Lily” Marie McCarter were held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the New Harmony Church with Jimmy Decker and Noah Schlag officiating. A time of sharing was led by Chris and Emily. Song selections played were “Twenty-One Years”, You Proof”, “Dancing In The Sky”, and “One Day”. Arrangements were under the direction and care of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Lily McCarter and left at Wilson Mortuary or New Harmony Church.
