Lisa Michele (Huskey) Welch

Lisa Michele (Huskey) Welch was born on February 22, 1966, in Rolla, Missouri, to Danny and Brenda. She grew up in Lecoma and graduated with the class of 1984 from Salem High School, and later furthered her education at Metro Business College. Lisa was united in marriage on June 5, 2004 in Salem, Missouri, to her sweetheart, Edward Dewayne Welch. Lisa and Edward were fortunate to share eighteen years of laughter and memories together. Lisa was blessed with two daughters, Rachel and Kelsey and gained three sons, Brandon, Eric, and Brian. Lisa was a hard worker and worked as a receiving clerk at Lowes for ten years. She also worked for several years as a Certified Medical Technician, most recently with the St. James Veterans Home. Her kindness, caring and compassion always stood out and will never be forgotten. Lisa truly enjoyed the outdoors and admiring what nature provided. One of her proudest moments was skydiving, which she did three times, including once with her Uncle John. She liked to spend time in the woods deer and mushroom hunting. Lisa loved the water, enjoyed fishing, exploring caves and repelling. Lisa would often be found porch sitting and admiring her flowers and garden beds. She was known for her green thumb and impressive knowledge of plants. Always up for an adventure, Lisa was happiest surrounded by family and spent much of her life gathering with the people she loved. She was a great cook and loved cooking big family meals. Lisa cherished her grandchildren and treasured the memories made together. Lisa departed this life on June 22, 2022, in Salem, Missouri at the age of fifty-six years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Edward Welch of Salem, MO; daughters: Rachel Schafer and husband AJ of Columbia, MO and Kelsey Dixon and fiancé Ty Kelley of Dixon, MO; sons: Brandon Koller and wife Katie of Fair Grove, MO, Eric Welch and wife Samantha of Salem, MO, and Brian Welch and wife Myla of Abilene, TX; grandchildren: Mason, Kalyn, Collin, Colby, Jace, Grady, Brylee, Jack, Greyson, Jaylee, Rowan, Ellyette, and Eleanor; mother: Brenda Elliott of Salem, MO; sister: Kelly Strouse and husband Marshall of Wildwood, MO; half-brothers: Brad and Todd Huskey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her father, Danny Huskey, and beloved sister: Jill Turnbough. Lisa will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends. She was a beloved wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, dedicated daughter, caring sister, loving aunt, and trusted friend. Her laughter will be missed but her light will shine on in all who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral Services for Lisa Michele (Huskey) Welch were held Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Take My Hand, Precious Lord”, “Amazed”, and “When I Get Where I’m Going”. Serving as Pallbearers were AJ Schafer, Ty Kelley, Brian Welch, Eric Welch, Brandon Koller, Mason Koller, Marshall Strouse, and Gabe Turnbough. Burial was in the Round Pond Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Lisa Welch and left at Wilson Mortuary.
