Nancy Carolyn (Christensen) Wickam

Nancy Carolyn (Christensen) Wickam was born November 7, 1939, in Vernal, Utah, to Alfred and Eva Freda (Gadd) Christensen. She grew up and graduated with the class of 1958 from Uintah High School. Nancy was united in marriage to John M. Wickam on May 26, 1961, and to this union blessed with three children: Rick, Shirley, and David. Nancy and John shared fifty-four years of marriage and memories together before his passing April 9, 2015. Nancy was a dedicated wife and devoted homemaker. Family meant everything to Nancy. She valued being a mother, treasured being grandma, cherished being a great-grandma, and was thrilled to become a great-great-grandma. Her home has always been a place where everyone felt loved, welcomed, and at home. Nancy took great pride in maintaining her yard and liked tending to her flower beds. She loved her fur babies, Rascal and Tuffy, and enjoyed their daily walks together. Nancy was very passionate about her family genealogy and would spend hours researching her family history. She was a lady of great faith and attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Nancy passed away September 12, 2024, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her loving children: Rick Wickam and wife Barbara of Salem, MO, Shirley Schwartz of Salem, MO, and David Wickam and wife Kathy of Utah; brothers: Lynn Christensen and wife Carol, Ray Christensen, and Kelly Christensen and wife Joan; sister: Linda Hernandez and husband Tony; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her loving husband: John Wickam; parents: Alfred and Eva Christensen; brothers: Keith and William Christensen; and son-in-law: Jamie Schwartz. Nancy was a beautiful woman who was full of sass and spunk. She could be sarcastic and stubborn but incredibly loving and caring. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Memorial Services for Nancy Carolyn (Christesen) Wickam were held Thursday, September 19, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “Old Rugged Cross”, and “How Great Thou Art”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Nancy Wickam to the Wounded Warrior Project and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
