Richard Ray Byfield

Richard Ray Byfield was born May 2, 1941, in Hardy, Nebraska to Harold Eugene and Anna (Eiseman) Byfield. He grew up in Superior, Nebraska and graduated from Superior High School. Richard was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ruby Marie Baker, September 15, 1961 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Salem, Missouri. Richard and Ruby were blessed with sixty-one years of marriage and five children: Ruth, Rita, Dedie, Richard Jr., and Rebbecca. Richard was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time in the woods and cutting timber. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved working on the farm. Richard was gifted talented hands and could fix anything. He especially liked tinkering with gas and electric motors. Richard was a devoted family man and valued spending time with his family. Making memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy. In his spare time, he liked to go fishing and finding a bargain at the auction. Richard was a man of faith and member of Victor Baptist Church where he has served as deacon since 1980. Richard was passionate about helping others, he had a heart of gold and shared his love and compassion with everyone he met. Richard was a member of Missouri Pork Producers and President of Dent County Pork Producers. He also served on the Northwood R-4 School Board. Richard entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2022, in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife: Ruby Byfield of Salem, MO; children: Ruth Campbell and Mike of Strafford, MO, Rita Whitehouse and Robert of Salem, MO, Dedie Wilson and Mike of Licking, MO, Richard Byfield Jr. and Kristen of St. James, MO, and Rebbecca Maxey of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren: Bryan Campbell and Karen, Matthew Campbell and Hilary, Zach Whitehouse, Brady Whitehouse and Emaly, Joshua Campbell and Kara, Dustin Whitehouse and Carolyn, Abbi Martin and Wade, Scott Byfield and Rachel, Breanna Ward and Cody, Aaron Wilson and Shay, Christian Maxey, Nathan Wilson and Ripleigh, Josie Steelman and Tyler, Delaney Byfield, Maddie Stamer, Ryder Byfield; great-grandchildren: Caleb, Kate, Allyson, Ean, Nora, Malachi, Adalie, Ruby, Tallulah, Eli, Aurora, Jax, Luna, Winston, Theodore, Clementine, Audrey, Ella, Westin, Luke, Noah, Beau, Hailey, Roselyn, Everly, Jackson, Linkon, Kayson, and Ronin; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Harold and Anna Byfield; brother: Gene Byfield and wife Kathy; and sisters: Laura and husband Bob and Cora and husband Dennis. Richard leaves a great legacy for those who loved him most. He will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Richard Ray Byfield were held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Victor Baptist Church in Anutt, Missouri with Bro. Brady Whitehouse and Bryan Campbell officiating. Several memories were shared by his loving grandchildren. Special Music played was “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “When I Get Where I’m Going” with additional special music provided by Cody Ward and Emaly Whitehouse singing “If You Only Knew”. Serving as Pallbearers were Bryan Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Zach Whitehouse, Josh Campbell, Dustin Whitehouse, Scott Byfield, Aaron Wilson, Christian Maxey, Nathan Wilson, and Ryder Byfield. Flower Bearers were Abbi Martin, Breanna Ward, Josie Steelman, Delaney Byfield, and Maddie Stamer. Burial was in the Carty Cemetery.
