Abraham Lincoln Johnson

Abraham Lincoln Johnson was born May 3, 1944, in Lee County, Virginia. He was the son of Marshall and Ruby (Davis) Johnson. Abraham lost his father at a young age and learned quickly the importance of family. He was of a large family and grew up in Lee County, Virginia. Abraham was a dedicated truck driver with Sam Rose for many years. It was on the road that he met the love of his life, Hilda Fay Spears, while he stopped daily at White Castle to eat breakfast. The two fell in love and were united in marriage June 10, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Abraham and Hilda were blessed with one daughter: Theresa. Abraham was a man of many talents and jack of all trades. He taught himself how to do almost anything that needed to be done. He learned everything from electrical to plumbing. He was a true outdoorsman, who loved everything nature had to offer. He enjoyed spending time on the farm, hunting with his son-in-law, and fishing. Abraham was life, a true character, and full of passion. He shared deep love for his family, enjoying precious memories together and creating lasting bonds. Something he enjoyed doing was playing a friendly card game. His daughter and grandsons were his world, and he meant the world to them. Abraham loved attending local gospel music groups with his wife Hilda. Abraham was a great man of faith. He was a member of the Viburnum Christian Church until it closed and then started attending Farmington Christian Church until his health no longer allowed. His church family meant the world to him. Throughout the years, he filled various spots from putting on a new roof to passing the offering plate. His kind, generous, and compassionate nature touched the lives of many. Abraham entered eternal rest February 24, 2025, in Belleview, Missouri, at the age of eighty years. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife: Hilda Johnson of Belleview, MO; daughter: Theresa Ware and husband Michael of Arnold, MO; sister: Opal Martin and husband Tony of Morristown, TN; grandsons: Ryan and Christopher Ware; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his father: Marshall Johnson; mother: Ruby (Davis) Derry; and siblings: Rita and husband Andy, Barbara, Ralph, Derry, Glen, and Carol. Abraham leaves behind a deep void, big shoes to fill, and a legacy for all to strive for. His full of life personality will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Abraham Lincoln Johnson were held Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Pastor Alan Berry officiating. Song selections played were “God On The Mountain”, “What A Day That Will Be”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri.
