Arlene (Shults) Lunn

Arlene (Shults) Lunn was born March 11, 1936, in Jack, Missouri. She was born to Buford and Phoebe (Posten) Shults, known by their family as Boots and Granny. Arlene grew up Salem, was Miss Salem 1953, and graduated with the class of 1953 from Salem High School. Arlene was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lloyd Alvin Lunn, June 3, 1960, in Salem, Missouri. They built a beautiful life together sharing sixty-three years of lasting memories before his passing November 27, 2023. Arlene and Lloyd were blessed with three sons: Gary, Michael, and Bradley. In her early working years, Arlene worked at the International Shoe Factory. She also had a side business ironing clothes for local businessmen. Her primary role for her family was that of a homemaker. She took great pride in caring for her home and raising her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. Arlene and Lloyd loved to travel together. They often traveled to Texas for the winter and over the years explored nearly every corner of the United States. They also shared several memories camping with Lloyd’s siblings and their families. Arlene liked to check out the casinos in any place she happened to pass through, always hoping to win it big. Arlene was a lifelong member of the Salem First Baptist Church. Her faith and church fellowship were a very important part of her life. She never had a bad word to say about anyone, if you had a friend in Arlene, you had one for life. Arlene entered eternal rest on October 30, 2024, in Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years. Left behind to cherish her memory are her loving sons: Gary Lunn and wife Susan of Sullivan, MO, Michael Lunn and wife Sarah of Ozark, MO, and Bradley Lunn and wife Stephanie of Pacific, MO; brother: Charles Shults and wife Pauline of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Tanner Lunn, Chris Oldham and Toni, Brad Oldham and Stacy, and Matthew Oldham and Heather, Nathan Turman and Emeri, Sarah VanKlaveren and Andrew, and Zac Lunn and Katie; great-grandchildren: Blake, Hayden, Aaliyah, Andrew, Kenley, Norman, Chaise, Vann, Spenser, Maddex, and Charlie; extended family and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: Lloyd Lunn; parents: Buford and Phoebe Shults; and her father and mother-in-law: Raymond and Virgina Lunn. Arlene lived life with an immense love for everyone. She was a loving, kind, and patient lady, who always thought of others before herself. Arlene will be deeply missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Arlene (Shults) Lunn were held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Frank Brooks officiating and Sara VanKlaveren sharing the eulogy. Special Music was provided by Kevin Shults and Lisa Wulff. Serving as Pallbearers were John Whelan, Tom Whelan, Tanner Lunn, Andrew VanKlaveren, Nathan Turman, and Zac Lunn. Burial was in the Dry Fork Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Arlene Lunn to Dry Fork Cemetery and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
