Ava Marie (Miller) Jadwin

Ava Marie (Miller) Jadwin was born April 11, 1920 in Jadwin, Missouri to Howard and Dora Belle (Bowhart) Miller. She grew up in the Jadwin area and attended school in a one-room schoolhouse. Ava was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lester “Les” Arnold Jadwin on July 29, 1938 in Salem, Missouri and together shared seventy-two years of memories before his passing May 24, 2010. Ava and Les were blessed with three children: Bill, Leta Mae, and Dianna. Ava took great pride in raising her children, she was a loving wife, dedicated homemaker and devoted mother. Her working years include time at the International Shoe Factory, Ely Walker Factory, and the drug store. Ava was a loving and caring person who brought joy to everyone in her presence. She treasured the moments with her grandchildren, adored her great-grandchildren, and cherished her great-great-grandchildren. Ava enjoyed the outdoors and spending time tending to her big garden, beautiful flower beds, and harvesting walnuts. She was a good cook, loved canning, and made delicious grape jelly. Ava liked attending and being a vendor at the farmers market. She was a longtime member at Jadwin Church of Christ and known as the “card woman”. Ava was an avid writer and truly loved sending cards with special notes to her family and church members. Ava departed this life October 19, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Salem, Missouri at the age of one hundred and one years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving daughters: Leta Mae Hubbs of Salem, MO and Dianna Jadwin of St. Louis, MO; daughter-in-law: Jean Jadwin of Salem, MO; four grandchildren: Lisa Dunlap and husband Tim of Illinois, Randy Hubbs and wife Angie of Salem, MO, Brad Jadwin and wife Lisa of Salem, MO, and Jill Dean and husband Ross of Salem, MO; eleven great-grandchildren: Zach Dunlap and wife Danielle, Ashley Lang and husband Jon, Alishia Uchtman and husband Chuck, Derrick Hubbs and wife Chelsie, Trish Keys, Hannah Foster and husband Tyler, Kaley Kohlfeld and husband Parker, Markie Walker and husband James, Jodie Dean, Savhanna Fenton and husband Koty, and Isabella Jadwin; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; granddog: Keishauna Tyrae; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Lester "Les" Jadwin; son: Bill Jadwin; son-in-law: Raymond Hubbs; parents: Howard and Dora Miller; sisters: Gladys Miller and Dorothy Mae Schafer; and brothers: Kenny Miller, Jim Miller, and Delbert Miller. Ava will be remembered for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile. She leaves behind a great legacy that will be carried for years to come by all her family. Funeral Services for Ava Marie (Miller) Jadwin were held Saturday, October 23, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Rick Pitchford officiating and great-grandson Zach shared the eulogy. Congregational songs sung were “Amazing Grace” and “Precious Memories” and additional song selection played was “Will The Circle Be Unbroken”. Serving as Pallbearers were Brad Jadwin, Randy Hubbs, Zach Dunlap, Tim Dunlap, Ross Dean, and Mason Dunlap. Honorary Pallbearers were Derrick Hubbs, Angie Hubbs, Lisa Dunlap, Jill Dean, and Lisa Jadwin. Burial was in the Jadwin Cemetery. The Family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
