Betty Jo (Anderson) Boze

Betty Jo (Anderson) Boze was born in Caldwell, Kansas, on April 27, 1931, to Clyde and Bessie (Struble) Anderson. She grew up in Bradley, Missouri and graduated from Caldwell High School. On August 25, 1951, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles Polk Boze. Betty and Charles were blessed with two children: Betty Ann and Joe Norman. Betty couldn’t ask for a better husband and cherished the sixty-two years of marriage and memories they shared together before his passing in 2013. Betty and Charles made Salem, Missouri their home in 1970, where they found the passion for farming and raising, breaking, and training premier Missouri Fox Trotters. Betty truly enjoyed riding horses, especially on the Current River Trails. Betty was a professional quilter and loved using her skill sewing and quilting hundreds of quilts throughout the years. Her talent was reflected in every amazing quilt she made. Betty was very artistic and creative and liked painting birds, barns, and flowers. She loved music and learned to play the piano, accordion, and banjo by ear. Betty was a sweet lady with a smile and kind words for everyone she met. Her love for the Lord truly shined in everything she did. Betty was a longtime member of Victor Baptist Church where she took great pride in filling a pew every Sunday. She had a servant’s heart and throughout the years she taught Sunday School, helped with the Youth Ministry, and volunteered as a cook at the Baptist Camp. Betty entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2023, at her home in Salem, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving daughter: Betty Ann Kunkel of Salem, MO; siblings: Karl Anderson, Edward Anderson and wife Sandra Kay, Mary Boze, and Norman Anderson and wife Linda; grandchildren: Daniel Kunkel and wife Jackie, Kristina Herrbach and husband Marshall, Jessica Radford and husband Michael, Joshua Boze and wife Staci, Ryan Boze, and Kester Boze; great-grandchildren: Erin Herrbach and wife Megan, Grace Kunkel, Katlynn Herrbach, Morgan Radford, Keenan Kunkel, and Josie Radford; great-great-grandchildren: Oliver, Walter, and Theodore; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her loving husband: Charles Boze; son: Joe Boze; parents: Clyde and Bessie Anderson; and her brother: Lee Anderson. Betty lived a long and fully blessed life. She cherished her family and loved watching her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grow. Her legacy will continue to live on in those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Betty Jo (Anderson) Boze were held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Victor Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Mathis and Pastor John Jordan officiating. Special Music was provided. Serving as Pallbearers were Danny Kunkel, Keenan Kunkel, Marshall Herrbach, Erin Herrbach, Michael Radford, and Mike Nocholas. Burial was in the Anutt Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Betty Jo Boze to Victor Baptist Church for Daily Bread or Operation Christmas Child and left with Wilson Mortuary.
