Betty Jean (Wisdom) Brown

Betty Jean (Wisdom) Brown was born on June 20, 1934, in Reynolds County Missouri to Emzy and Bessie (Williams) Wisdom and passed away on December 11, 2019, in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years. Betty grew up on the family dairy farm in Bunker, Missouri and attended school in a one-room schoolhouse. Betty was united in marriage to Homer Earl Farrar and the two were blessed with three children: Beverly, Steven, and Cindy. Betty worked for Foxy Lady Beauty Salon for many years before opening up her own shop in her home. She was more than just a hairstylist, she built relationships with her clients and enjoyed their visits. She had the ability to listen and create the best version of yourself. Betty's greatest joy was tending to her home and family, she took great pride in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed doing crafts, collecting antiques, bowling and she was an avid Elvis Presley Fan. Betty is survived by her three children: Beverly Drury and husband Kevin of Salem, MO, Steven Earl Farrar of St. Charles, MO, and Cindy Elaine Williams of Salem, MO; three grandchildren: Crystal Kittrell and husband Darrell of Salem, MO, Nick Steven Farrar and wife Taylor of St. Charles, MO, and Amanda Woodrad and life partner Addie of East Prairie, MO; four great-grandchildren: Darrell Kittrell, Dakota Kittrell, Dalton Kittrell, and Braylen Farrar; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceding her in death, were her parents: Emzy and Bessie Wisdom; three brothers: Clyde, Yewell, and Almond; two sisters: Alpha and Alta; great-grandson: infant Dylan Kittrell. Betty was strong in her Christian faith and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Graveside Service for Betty Jean (Wisdom) Brown was held Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Greeley Cemetery with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Steven, Farrar, Nick Farrar, Darrell Kittrell, Darrell Kittrell Jr., Dakota Kittrell and Dalton Kittrell. Honorary Pallbearers were Kevin Drury and Braylen Farrar. All arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
