Billy Joe Case

Billy Joe Case was born March 26, 1936, in Lecoma, Missouri. He was one of ten born to Joseph Warren and Mildred Pearl (Leonard) Case. Billy Joe grew up in Lecoma and after high school, served in the Army National Guard for twelve years. Billy Joe was blessed with a beautiful family, he was a devoted husband to his wife, Marie June Woolman, whom he married on June 20, 1959. Together they raised their five children: Ken, Rhonda, Joey, Dan, and Chris. Billy Joe and June shared sixty-four wonderful years of marriage, laughter, and countless memories. Billy Joe was a dedicated farmer who worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed being out in the hayfield bailing and hauling hay, working cattle, and raising hogs. Billy Joe also worked as a bus driver for thirty-eighty years. He started his bus driving career at Lecoma and retired from Dent-Phelps R-3 Schools. In his younger years, Billy Joe could be found in the woods hunting or by water fishing. In his quiet moments, Billy Joe found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved his family immensely and cherished every moment spent with them. His children were the apple of his eye & his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride & joy. His life was a testament to the love of family, the value of hard work, and his strong faith in the Lord. Billy Joe was a longtime member of Victor Baptist Church where he, for a time sang in the choir, and served as Deacon for many years. Billy Joe entered into eternal rest on November 17, 2023, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years. Those left behind to carry on his legacy include his loving wife: June Case of Lecoma, MO; sons: Ken Case and wife Kelly of Lecoma, MO, Joe Case and wife Janene of Lecoma, MO, Dan Case and wife Julie of Jefferson City, MO, and Chris Case and wife Denise of Wentzville, MO; siblings: Roy Case and wife Nina of St. Louis, MO, Harold Case and wife Barb of Crystal City, MO, and Sharon Maessen of Maryland Heights, MO; brothers-in-law: Al Bullard of Denver, CO and Boyd Gray of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren: Kyle Case and wife Lindsay, Kendra Farrell and husband Ben, Justin Case and wife Hayley, Cami, Corbin, Jonah, Carson, Caleb, Carley, and Colton Case; great-grandchildren: Cooper, Kassidy, Stockton, Maylee, Trippton, Heidi, Salem, and Hallie; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, his daughter: Rhonda Leonard and husband Walter; an infant son; parents: Joseph and Mildred Case; and siblings: Leonard, Dorothy, Ray, Wanita, Wilma, and Ruby. Billy Joe will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering dedication to family, and commitment to serving others. His legacy of love, hard work, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Billy Joe Case were held Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Victor Baptist Church, Anutt, Missouri with Pastor Larry Fackler and Pastor John Jordan officiating. Special Music was led by Chet Price. Serving as Pallbearers were Kyle Case, Justin Case, Corbin Case, Jonah Case, Carson Case, and Ben Farrell. Honorary Pallbearers were Caleb Case and Colton Case. Burial was in the Victor Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Billy Joe Case to the Victor/Anutt Cemetery Fund and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
