Bonnie Jean (Dennis) Graves

Bonnie Jean (Dennis) Graves, the daughter of Vern and Ina (Able) Dennis, was born December 15, 1942, in Perrysburg, Ohio. She entered her Heavenly home October 7, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years. Bonnie grew up in Bradner, Ohio and graduated from Lakota High School. On April 3, 1965, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gene Arthur Graves Sr. They shared four children together, Gene Jr., Christine, William, and John. Bonnie and Gene were blessed with fifty-five years of marriage and memories before his passing on December 18, 2020. Bonnie dedicated many years to working as a housekeeper but her passion in life was caring for others with quiet strength and devotion. As a mother, she loved her children unconditionally and always supported them. She was very resourceful, taught them about nature, and how to display kindness to others. Bonnie lived a life marked by remarkable kindness, deep thoughtfulness, and unwavering fierceness. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world, and she cherished the memories they made together. Bonnie was a lady of faith and member of Salem First Baptist Church. She was a talented seamstress and quilter. Bonnie was highly involved with the church quilting ministry and made several quilts that were auctioned off. She also made sure that every one of her grandchildren had a special quilt made for them. Bonnie is survived by her daughter: Christine Graves and Marvin of Findlay, OH; son: John Graves and wife Jennifer of California; daughters-in-law: Mary Graves of Bradner, OH and Heather Graves of Findlay, OH; sister: Janet Grynewicz and husband Mike of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren: Lance Roelle, Anthony Mora and wife Alicia, Josh Graves and wife Aliana, Robert Graves, Zac Graves, Brent Ratacher and wife Kaye, Josh Ratacher; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: Gene Graves Sr; son: Bill Graves; stepson: Gene Graves Jr.; and parents: Vern and Ina Dennis. Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and gentleness. Her memory will live on in the many lives she has touched along the way. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew and loved her. The love and care you shared with Bonnie will never be forgotten. Memorial Services for Bonnie Jean (Dennis) Graves were held Friday, October 10, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor David Hancock officiating. Song selections played were “The Lord’s Prayer” and “One Day”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Bonnie Graves to Salem First Baptist Church for the Quilters Guild and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
