Brenda Sue (Barred) Paine

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Sue Paine (Barred), 72, of Golden Valley, Arizona, who left this world peacefully on June 11, 2025. Brenda was born on October 27, 1952, in Salem, Missouri, to James and Easter (Quick) Barred. Brenda eventually met her husband, Robert Paine in Salem, Missouri. Robert and Brenda wed on March 20, 1971, soon after they welcomed two children together. In 1997 Bob and Brenda decided to make the move to Kingman, Arizona, which is where Brenda called home for the last years of her life. Arizona was what allowed her to walk freely again and gave her the ability to hike, gold-hunt, play bingo, and anything else she enjoyed. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Brenda was known for her feisty, strong spirit. She would tell you what she thought, whether you wanted to know it or not, which was one of everyone’s favorite things about her. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family, playing bingo, or spending time with her doggies Mary and Marcie. Late 2024 she got her first great-grandchild, Anthony, and in the beginning of 2025, she had another great-grandchild, Vincent, welcomed into the family. She enjoyed being able to hold them and love on them while she could. Brenda is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Robert Paine; her son Robert “Shane” Paine and wife LeAnna of Salem, MO; daughter Serena Drury (Paine) and husband Matthew of Kingman, AZ; sister Gladys Reeves (Barred) of Morning Sun, IA; brother James “Jimmy” Barred and wife Sue of Smithville, MO; brother William “Billy” Barred and wife Karen of Salem, MO; brother Richard “Richie” Barred and wife Vickie of Salem, MO; granddaughter Briana Drury and Jose; grandson Anthony “Tony” Drury and Emily, grandson Jason Paine, granddaughter Bethany Paine and many loved cousins, in-laws, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents: James and Easter Barred; her sister: Betty June Barred; and granddaughter: Ella Paine. All who knew and loved Brenda are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. She will forever be missed, cherished, and loved beyond measure. We find peace knowing she is with Jesus and finally holding Ella again with her favorite doggie Peanut by her side. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. We love you! Graveside Services for Brenda Sue (Barred) Paine were held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Jadwin Cemetery with Pastor David Gidcumb officiating. Her grandchildren participated by reading the obituary, leading “Amazing Grace”, and closing in prayer. Serving as Pallbearers were Jason Paine, Tony Drury, Matt Drury, Shane Paine, Bill Barred, and Richie Barred. The family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
