Catherine "Cathy" Louise (Irons) McClellan

Catherine Louise (Irons) McClellan was born on November 6, 1961, in North Hollywood, California. She was born to Kurt and Betty Lou (Gregg) Irons. Cathy was raised in Buena Park, California and graduated with the class of 1980 from Buena Park High School. On November 19, 1993, in Salem, Missouri, Cathy was united in marriage to the love of her life Dwayne “Scoop” Leslie McClellan. Cathy and Scoop were blessed with twenty-five years of marriage and lasting memories before his passing on August 5, 2019. Cathy worked selflessly as a communications dispatch officer with the Salem Police Department for nearly twenty-five years. She dedicated herself to supporting the brave men and women of blue and serving in the community she loved. She loved her job, Salem PD became her second family, and she was proud to be part of the sacred covenant to protect and serve. Cathy was very creative. She enjoyed crafting projects in her spare time and shopping at Hobby Lobby. She liked doing diamond dotz painting, crocheting blankets, quilting, and sewing. Cathy often helped with alterations and sewed patches on the police department uniforms. Most important to her was her family and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Cathy was a devoted wife, caring sister, and loving auntie. Cathy peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2024, at her home in Salem, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years. She leaves behind to carry her legacy brothers: Kurt “Chris” Irons Jr. and wife Beverly of Salem, MO; Gregg Irons of Salem, MO and Richard Gregg Sr. and wife Martine of Salem, MO; brother-in-law: Robert McClellan and wife Melissa “Missy”; sister-in-law: Trisha Knight; nieces and nephews: Chris Linss and wife Laura, Kurt Irons III and wife Sholeh, Joylynn Irons, Morrigan Gregg, Ricky Gregg Jr., Thomas Knight, and Andrew Knight; great-nieces and nephews: Gavin, Aidan, Ava, Leila, and Amelia; extended family and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: Dwayne “Scoop” McClellan; parents: Kurt Sr. and Betty Lou (Gregg) Irons; aunts: Dahllee Gregg and Marilyn Breeding; uncle: Dick Gregg; and nephew: Richard “Richie” Gates. Cathy was a fighter until her last day, never giving up hope and will to live a meaningful life. She was kind natured and always fun to be around. Cathy will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Catherine Louise (Irons) McClellan were held Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Faithfully”, “Don’t Bring Me Down”, and “If The Sun Comes Up”. Serving as Pallbearers were Kurt “Chris” Irons Jr., Richard Gregg, Robert McClellan, Michael Moore, John Brown, and Luc Burns. Honorary Pallbearers were Ricky Gregg Jr., Morrigan Gregg, Chris Linss, Kurt Irons III, Joylynn Irons, and Elijah Stuckenborg. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
