Coy Lendell Loveday Sr.

Coy Lendell Loveday Sr. was born on September 24, 1941 in Sevierville, Tennessee to Charlie Lee and Ellen (Wells) Loveday. Coy grew up in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee and graduated with the Class of 1960 from Jefferson High School. He was blessed with two children: Rusty and Donna. Coy was a hard worker and worked hard to provide for his family. He worked at the Amax Mines for several years. Coy was a man of faith and baptized in 1993 at the age of fifty-two. Coy enjoyed the simple life; spending time outdoors in his boat with his rod and reel in hand. He was a true fisherman and would fish anytime he could. Some of his favorite moments were fishing on the Lake of the Ozarks with his friends Butch, Todd, Don, and Gary and his nephews. Coy had a close bond with Michael, Justin, and Steven and they shared many big fishing stories. Most important to Coy was his family; he cherished the memories they made together. Coy passed away on October 15, 2020 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, son: Rusty Loveday and wife Sharon of Knoxville, TN; daughter: Donna Chumbley and husband Brian of Hurricane, WV; grandchildren; Gabi Loveday, Zack Chumbley, Kadeon Chumbley, and Tinsley Chumbley; special nephews (more like sons): Michael Loveday and wife Destiny of Salem, MO, Justin Loveday and wife Lindsay of Fairgrove, MO, and Steven Loveday of Neosho, MO; special niece: Mary Loveday of Cleveland, OH; siblings: Carolyn McCarter and husband Jack of Jefferson City, TN, Jean Spoon of New Market, TN, and Lee Loveday and wife Vicki of Salem, MO; special friends: Butch, Todd, Don, and Gary; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death, his parents: Charlie Lee and Ellen (Wells) Loveday and his infant sister: Charlotte Loveday. Coy was truly one of a kind, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends. Coy will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Gathering for Coy Lendell Loveday Sr. was held Sunday, October 18, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. The Family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
