Dannie Gail Reeves

Dannie Gail Reeves was born on October 19, 1940, in Salem, Missouri, to Noah Orvil and Marie (Dodson) Reeves. He grew up with in Buick, Missouri, along with his brother Dennis. Dannie enlisted into the United States Army National Guard and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge after six years. Dannie was united in marriage on September 18, 1964, to the love of his life, Elsie Marie Martin. Dannie was foremost a devoted and loving husband to his wife and best friend sharing fifty-eight years of memories. Dannie worked hard all his life. He started his working career with the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Salem and later loaded trucks for K&D Crushing. Dannie started his career in the mines operating heavy equipment with AMAX and retired from Doe Run. He was well known by his nickname, "Diesel Dan". Dannie enjoyed the outdoors and fishing in the farm ponds. He had a passion for old cars and liked reading and playing video games. Dannie was an incredible uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. He loved spending time with them and treasured the memories they made together. Dannie departed this life on October 4, 2022, in Potosi, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories loving wife Elsie Reeves of Boss, MO; brother: Dennis Reeves and wife Lora of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers-in-law: Danny Martin and Jerry Martin and wife Bev; sister-in-law: Donna Martin and husband Stan; nieces and nephews: Mike Reeves and wife Jodi, Sandy Reeves and husband Mike, Sherry Reeves and husband Eric, Tony Martin and wife Vicky, Brandon Martin, Larry Martin and wife Teresa, Dalton Schneider, Lisa Copeland, Brenda Martin, Paula Bowen, Jamie Capriglione and husband Paul, Joe Martin and wife Becky, Billy Martin, Kevin Martin and Jenny, Johnny Martin and wife Vickie, Matt Martin, and Sherry Bowen; as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Noah and Marie Reeves; brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold and wife Anita, Frank and wife Verna, Elvie and wife Juanita, and Delmar and wife Sharon; and nephews: Danny Reeves and Daniel Martin. Dannie could light up a room with his contagious smile. He will be forever missed but never forgotten. Funeral Services for Dannie Gail Reeves were held Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Macedonia United Baptist Church in Boss, Missouri with Pastor Heath Garrison officiating. Song selections played were “In The Garden”, “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Serving as Pallbearers were Mike Reeves, Dalton Schneider, Billy Martin, Kevin Martin, Joe Martin, and Johnny Martin. Honorary Pallbearers were Tony Martin, Larry Martin, Brandon Martin, and Matt Martin. Burial with Military Honors was held in the Boss Cemetery. Military Honors was provided by the American Legion Post 99 and Missouri Honors Team. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
