David Adam McGraw

David Adam McGraw was born on January 2, 1975 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to David and Karen. He grew up in Salem, Missouri and graduated from Salem High School. Adam furthered his education at Southwest Baptist University. Adam was the proud father of four children: Mercedes, Kirstin, Landon, and Shakota. He loved his children deeply and treasured spending time with them. Adam worked hard to provide for his family and was employed with Jadwin Sawmill. He loved his job and would walk just to get there. Adam was operating the forklift and unloading. He also worked for John Woods Roofing. Adam had many interests and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Fan and liked watching their games. Adam could often be found outdoors fishing, hunting, or camping. He had a passion for reptiles including snakes, spiders, and geckos, and enjoyed his fish tank. Adam was a loyal friend to many, and friendship was important to him. His favorite memory is spending Fourth of July at John Woods. Adam was a man of faith and baptized by Pastor Matt Milligan. Adam passed away on August 22, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Salem, Missouri at the age of forty-six years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, loving children: Mercedes McGraw and Noah Rhodes of Salem, MO, Kirstin McGraw of Salem, MO, Landon McGraw of Salem, MO, and Shakota McGraw of Salem, MO; parents: Karen and James Powell of Salem, MO; brother: Nick McGraw and wife Staci of Salem, MO; sister: Sarah McGraw of Rolla, MO; grandchildren: Laylah McGraw and Ivy Rhodes; special friend: Lisa McGraw; significant other: Nasifar Mohammed; lifetime best friend: Fina Halbrook; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death, grandparents: Wilbur and Ann Nash; aunt: Sherry Gibbs; and cousin: Jay Gibbs. Adam will be forever remembered for his generosity, gentle heart, and kind nature. He will be deeply missed. Memorial Services for David Adam McGraw were held Saturday, August 28, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Matt Milligan officiating. Song selections played were “Knockin On Heaven’s Door”, “Jealous of the Angels”, “Down to the River to Pray”, and “Go Rest High on that Mountain”.
