Earl Dean Smith

Earl Dean Smith was born June 4, 1930 in Jadwin, Missouri to Elvin and Lois (Kunkel) Smith and passed away November 2, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years. Earl Dean was born and raised in Jadwin, Missouri. He was converted and baptized as a young man and attended New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Earl Dean honorably served in the United States Army. On May 20, 1950, Earl Dean Smith was united in marriage to Mildred June Hasten in Salem, Missouri. Earl Dean took great pride in his work as a heavy equipment operator, as owner of Smith Excavating, Construction, and Trucking. He also owned Smith Limestone Quarry. Earl Dean enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. Preceding him in death were his parents, Elvin and Lois Smith; daughter, Lois Diane Smith; brother, David Smith; father and mother in law, Harl and Mildred Hasten. Survivors include his wife, Mildred June of the home; sons, Steve Smith and wife, Ginger of Salem, MO; Lindell Smith and girlfriend, Wendy of Salem, MO; Bryan Smith and wife, Rebecca of Salem, MO; Kevin Smith and wife, Cheryl of Jackson, MO; sister, Marlene Gorman and husband, Elva of Salem, MO; sisters in law, Mable Smith of Salem, MO; Corda Reeves and husband, Dewayne; brother in law, Corbin Hasten and wife, Diana; grandchildren, Timothy, Sarah, Krystal, Tyler, Morgan, Dalton, Mandi, Joni, and Randy; great grandchildren, Jake, Logan, Dawson, Micah, Bryar, Aryssa, David, Waylon, Colton, Carter, Bella; great-great grandchildren, Chase, Trey, Bryce, Rhett, Hadlynn, Addi Jo, Abel, and one on the way; and many other extended family and friends. Earl Dean will be sadly and deeply missed, but fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. Funeral service for Earl Dean Smith was held Tuesday, November 06, 2018 at Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Joe Hubbs officiating, music was provided by special recorded selections. Serving as pallbearers were, Timothy Smith, Dalton Smith, Jarrod Simpson, Jared Nothaus, Ross Hanners, Wesley Bobbitt, Logan Conway and Jake Conway. Serving as honorary pallbearers were, Tyler Smith and Randy Partin. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
