Ethel Jacqueline “Jackie” (Williams) White was born on March 10, 1932, in Festus, Missouri to Herbert and Ethel Margaret (Bonney) Williams and passed away on August 31, 2020, at Farmington Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years. Jackie grew up in Festus and graduated from Festus High School. She went to further her education at South East Missouri University obtaining her teaching degree. Jackie began her teaching career as an elementary teacher at Bunker Elementary. During her time there, she touched the lives of many students leaving a lasting impression on them. Jackie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dempsey White, on December 27, 1950 in Arkansas. Together they shared fifty-four years of memories and were blessed with four children: Fred, Dennis, Larry, and an infant daughter. Jackie was extremely involved in church and her faith was evident to all she encountered. She was a member of Grace Community Church for many years. Jackie’s relationship and love for Jesus was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed attending the Ladies Group Meetings and serving on several committees. Jackie loved reading her Bible and read it on a daily basis. Jackie’s friends and family have countless stories where she has impacted their lives through her faith and her passionate love of people. She had a heart for serving and was known for baking goodies for the nursing home residents. Most important to Jackie was her family, she cherished her time spent with them and creating memories, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her loving sons: Fred White and wife Terri of Eureka Springs, AR, Dr. Dennis White and wife Barbara of Springfield, MO, and Larry White and wife Angie of Farmington, MO; three brothers: Leo Williams of Farmington, MO, Leon Williams and wife Pat of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Leroy Williams of Texas; as well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: Dempsey White, infant daughter; parents: Herbert and Ethel Williams; and two sisters: Dorthlene and Charlene. Jackie was a soft-spoken, sweet, kind, and caring lady who will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Ethel Jacqueline "Jackie" (Williams) White were held Friday, September 4, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Gary Bartle officiating. Song selections played were "Sheltered in the Arms of God", "It Is Well With My Soul", and "Dancing in the Sky". Serving as Pallbearers were her loving family. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
