Garry Francis Woods

Garry Francis Woods, born January 21, 1954, in Cook Station, Missouri, passed away July 17, 2026, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years. Garry was a graduate of Salem High School. On March 12, 1978, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Karen Sue Woods, in Licking, Missouri. Together they built a life creating lasting memories. They were blessed with one son, Rob, with whom Garry shared a close bond with. Garry dedicated forty-seven years of service to Royal Oak, where his strong work ethic and commitment was evident. Outside of work, Garry had a lifelong passion for automobiles. He especially enjoyed working on vehicles, rebuilding engines and transmissions, and restoring Chevrolet El Caminos. Garry was an avid NASCAR fan whose favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr., and he proudly collected NASCAR memorabilia while attending races and car shows whenever he could. He also loved spending time on the Lake of the Ozarks, where he enjoyed camping, boating, riding side-by-sides, and ATVs. Garry loved to travel and create cherished memories with his extended family and those closest to him. He loved animals, was a man of faith, and treasured every moment spent with his family. Garry also served as President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3422. Garry is survived by his loving wife: Sue Woods of Salem, MO; son: Rob Woods and wife Christine of Jersey Shore, PA; siblings: Nancy Brookshire and husband John, John Woods and wife Elizabeth, Derrell Fisk and wife Joann, Ronald Fisk, and Denice Fisk; grandchildren: Arwen Waite and Garrett Waite and wife Kiranin; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Lloyd Woods; mother: Dorothy (Jordan) Fisk; and his sister: Lola Woods Wright. Known for his quiet nature and generous heart, Garry was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, humility, and devotion to those he loved will be remembered by all who knew him. Services were held July 20, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Rob Woods, Derrell Fisk, Ethan Koehler, John Woods, John Brookshire, Kenny Way, Tony Dooley, and Brian Tucker. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery.
