Howard "Tiny" Williamson

Howard “Tiny” Williamson was born on January 8, 1932 in Bunker, Missouri to Robert and Melvina (Ritchie) Williamson. Tiny entered the United States Army on September 16, 1952 and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge on October 1, 1960. During his time in the military, Tiny earned the National Defense Service Metal. Tiny met the love of his life, Coreen Irene Berry, during a drag racing event. The two fell in love and were united in marriage on July 21, 1961 at her parents’ home in Montauk, Missouri. Tiny and Coreen together shared nearly sixty years of memories and were blessed with two children: Lisa and Russell. Tiny worked hard to provide for his family, he enjoyed working in the timber industry which became his lifelong career. Throughout the years, Tiny was employed with the Independent Stave Mill and the Saw Mill running the second edger. In his spare time, Tiny loved coon hunting and in his younger years was a part of the Bunker Coon Hunting Club. Tiny was an all-around tinkerer and spent many hours in his shed. He built many birdhouses and also a log cabin. Most important to him was his family, he cherished his granddaughter and his great-grandchildren were his world. Tiny passed away on July 8, 2021 at his home in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife Coreen Williamson of the home; daughter: Lisa Watson and husband Randy of Salem, MO; son: Russell Williamson of Salem, MO; granddaughter: Alicia Watson of Salem, MO; great-grandsons: Brody Hasten and Jacob West; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death, his parents: Robert and Melvina Williamson; and siblings: Lola, Opal, Walter “Buddy”, Richard “JR”, Leroy “Boots”, Ruth, Harold, and Wilma. Tiny leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Howard “Tiny” Williamson were held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Daylen Harrison officiating. Alicia Watson shared “Ten Rules Of Coon Hunting” and the “Coon Hunters Prayer”. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, and “Jesus Is Coming Soon”. Serving as Pallbearers were Randy Watson, Alicia Watson, Keith Cantrell, Stanley Huff, Dannie Watson, and Ryan Watson. Honorary Pallbearers were Tom Nivens and David Watson. Burial with Military Honors was in the Miner Cemetery. Military Honors was provided by the American Legion Post 99 and the United States Army. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Howard “Tiny” Williamson to Miner Cemetery and left at Wilson Mortuary.
