James Richard Pax

James Richard Pax was born in Pampa, Texas, on November 8, 1948, to Richard and Virgie (Huskey) Pax. He grew up in a large family with eight siblings. At the age of sixteen, James and his family moved to Dent County, Missouri. On February 18, 1969, James was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. For his honorable service, he earned several medals, ribbons, awards including the Bronze Star. James met the love of his life, Linda F. Enloe, at the Timber Church where they were united in marriage on October 17, 1970. To this union James and Linda were blessed with one daughter: Miracle, and three sons: Matt, Josh, and Jason. They enjoyed over fifty-four years of building a life, raising a family, and making countless memories. James learned the value of hard work and dedication from a young age. He started working delivering newspapers to help support his family. James worked at Ozark Flooring Mill before starting as a custodian with William Lynch Elementary School. An avid outdoorsman, James enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He often cooked breakfast and lunch while they were out in the woods. James thoroughly enjoyed gardening and liked sharing the produce with his family and friends until his health no longer allowed. His favorite time of the year was Christmas when his decorating talents truly shined with all his lights. James was a family man who loved spending as much time as he could with his family. He treasured his grandchildren and adored his great-grandchildren. Most importantly, James was a man of faith. He loved the Lord and loved to help others. James was a longtime member of the Dent County House of Prayer. James entered eternal rest January 1, 2025, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years. He leaves behind his loving wife: Linda Pax of Salem, MO; daughter: Miracle Malone and husband Will of Salem, MO; sons: Matt Pax and wife Amanda of Salem, MO, Josh Pax and wife Maria of Rolla, MO, and Jason Pax and wife Amanda of Jefferson City, MO; special nephew: Chris Bland and wife Jessica and their daughter Alessandra; brothers: Virgil Pax of Salem, MO, Earl Pax and wife Betty of Salem, MO, and Danny Pax and wife Cindy of Lenox, MO; sister: Liz Wallis and husband Stanley of Salem, MO; brother-in-law: Ron Mosley of Salem, MO; step-brother: Everett Enloe and wife Mary; step-sister: Louise Logan; grandchildren: Zach, Isaiah, Rosalynn, Makayla, William, Kayley, Ethan, Faith, Quenton, Alyvia, Emery, Malcolm, Hudson, Kennedy, and Chloe; great-grandchildren: Quinn, Charlie, Josie, and Blakely; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his grandson: James Pax; parents: Richard and Virgie (Huskey) Pax; baby brother: Samuel Pax; and sisters: Ann Click, Mary Barnes, Helen Light, and Becky Mosley. His life touched so many hearts with his contagious smile, handshake, and hugs. James was many things to many people, but he will always be remembered for his willingness to help others, giving spirit, and his love for his family and friends. His greatest legacy was leading his family and others to Christ. He will be forever missed. Funeral Services for James Richard Pax were held Saturday, January 11, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Rev. Stanley Wallis and Rev. Everett Enloe officiating. Additional speakers were Jason Pax, Chris Bland, and Lonnie Mosley. Special Music was provided by Stanley and Liz Wallis singing “This Is What Heaven Means To Me” and “March Around The Throne”, additional song selection played was “I Know”. Serving as Pallbearers were Matt Pax, Josh Pax, Jason Pax, Chris Bland, Roger Light, and Jeff Dvorak. Honorary Pallbearers were Loving Grandsons Zach, Isaiah, William, Ethan, Quenton, and in loving memory of James. Military Honors was provided by the United States Army Honors Team and American Legion Post 99. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
