Jerold Junior Sutton

Jerold Junior Sutton was born on June 3, 1959, in Salem, Missouri to Jerry Junior and Rosetta (Norris) Sutton. He was one of four children who grew up on the family farm in Dent County, Missouri. Jerold was an outdoorsman and had a genuine love of horses. His patience, kindness, gentleness, and ambition led him to his lifelong career as a farrier. Jerold was well trusted in the community and shod, trained, and broke many horses. Jerold was known as the best handyman a person could have. He was dependable, honest, and would always find a way to be there when you needed him. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing. Jerold was the ultimate animal whisperer, especially with dogs and horses. Aside from his spending time with his family, Jerold’s greatest passion was horseback riding, especially as a scout on the Current River Trails. Jerold passed away on August 4, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of sixty-two years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sisters: Donna Curley and Patsy Mendenhall and special friend Carl; brother: David Sutton; niece: Laura Pool and husband Steve; nephews: David Sutton Jr. and Jeremy Sutton; great-nieces: Kaylin Inman and Bryce Hildreth, Taylor Smith and Aaron Brooks, and Shaylea Sutton; great-great-nephews: Wesley Hildreth and Rylan Hildreth; great-great-niece: Addisyn Brooks; as well as many other close family and friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Jerry and Rosetta Sutton and nephew: Joseph Sutton. Jerold will be remembered as a tough cowboy with a tender heart. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Jerold Junior Sutton were held Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Ben Pursifull officiating. Song selections played were “See You Again”, “Country Side”, “Lover Lover”, and “Save The Roses”. Serving as Pallbearers were Bill Piatt, Jerry Lee Norris, J.J. Norris, Curt Miller, Larry Norris, and Shane Hoornaet. Honorary Pallbearers were Bill Benton and Charlie Walker. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery.
