Jerry "J.D." Dale Brooks

Jerry “J.D.” Dale Brooks was born October 9, 1971, in Rolla, Missouri to Jerry Lee and Donna Sue (Asher) Brooks. He grew up in Boss Missouri and attended Viburnum High School. At a young age, J.D. accepted Christ and attended Boss Assembly of God Church with his family. J.D. first met his sweetheart, Melissa “Lissa” Mae Gamblin, while in school. The two fell in love and were united in marriage May 18, 1996 in Columbia, Missouri. J.D. and Lissa shared together twenty-six years of memories and were blessed with two daughters: Ashton and Chloe. They were also blessed to call Nichole and Scott, along with the late Justin Dale, their own. A devoted family man, J.D. worked hard in life to provide for his family. He had the opportunity to travel all over the states as a pipefitter/welder. J.D. took great pride in his work and found true happiness in making special memories with his family that will last a lifetime. When he was able, J.D. enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed the thrill of the road. J.D. admired fast cars and loved driving them and drag racing. He truly enjoyed the trails at Flat Nasty with his Jeep and sand buggy. J.D. never met a stranger and liked helping others. He found ways to interact and encourage others who were wheelchair bound; showing them that there is still a life to live even in a wheelchair. J.D. was a real character, he loved joking around and making others laugh. J.D. departed this life September 22, 2022, in Viburnum, Missouri at the age of fifty years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife: Lissa Brooks of the home; daughters: Ashton Brooks and fiancé Scott Taylor of Kansas City, MO and Chloe Brooks of the home; special niece: Nichole Lum and husband Laurence of Farmington, MO; special nephew: Scott Lee Brooks of Middlebrook, MO; sister: Sherry Chandler and husband Nathan of Salem, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Jerry and Donna Brooks; brother: Dale Brooks; and nephew: Justin Brooks. J.D. lived with a heart of gratitude and contentment. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his quick wit. J.D. will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Jerry “J.D.” Dale Brooks were held Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Boss Assembly of God Church with Jay Hedrick and Elvie Hedrick officiating. Special Music was provided by soloist Richie Key and guitarist Rick Key. Serving as Pallbearers were Paul Todd, Scott Brooks, Scott Taylor, Travis Ramsey, Shea Emory, Gary Gamblin, Laurence Lum, and Rob Young. Honorary Pallbearers were Kelly Moore, Urijah Lum, Andrew Faulkner, Randy Faulkner, and Larry Paul Brooks. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of J.D. Brooks and left at Wilson Mortuary.
