Jerry Lee Stienbarger Sr.

Jerry Lee Stienbarger Sr., 81, of Salem, Missouri, entered his Heavenly home on May 13, 2025. He was born on January 3, 1944, in Licking, Missouri, to Andrew “Andy” and Bessie (Holt) Stienbarger. One of two children, Jerry spent his early years in Licking before leaving school to serve his country in the United States Air Force. His service took him to California and Guam, where he faithfully served until receiving his honorable discharge. On February 12, 1989, Jerry married the love of his life, Felecia Lewis, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Together they shared thirty-six wonderful years of marriage, building a strong and loving family. Their blended family includes seven children: Sherry, Jerry Jr., Kenny, Steve, Angie, Caleb, and Jacob, and a legacy that continues through generations. Jerry dedicated over forty years of his life to Intercounty Electric in the Salem area, where he rose to the position of construction lineman foreman before retiring in 2010. Prior to that, he worked for Chrysler. Known for his hard work, dependability, and willingness to help others, Jerry was admired by colleagues and community members alike. A true outdoorsman, Jerry loved spending time outside and took great pride in keeping his yard pristine. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. He was also a gifted woodworker, crafting birdhouses, feeders, and other creations that brought joy to family and friends. More than anything, Jerry was a family man. He treasured every moment spent with his family, creating cherished memories that will live on forever. Jerry was a devoted member of Grace Community Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon and soundman. His heart for service extended to the church’s bus ministry, where he transported children, youth, and seniors to events, camps, and rallies. He also volunteered with Rural Compassion – Convoy of Hope, participating in mission trips to the Navajo Nation and the Sioux Indian Reservation. Jerry is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Felecia Stienbarger of Salem, MO; his children: Sherry Guffey (Mark) of Pleasant Hill, MO; Jerry Stienbarger Jr. (Terrie) of Cheyenne, WY; Kenny Stienbarger Sr. (Karissa) of Salem, MO; Steve Stienbarger (Amber) of Rolla, MO; Angie Gray (Chris) of Sedalia, MO; Caleb Stienbarger of Rolla, MO; and Jacob Stienbarger (Cheyenne) of Sneads Ferry, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Anna Belle Mendez of Jefferson City, MO; his grandchildren: Hannah, Elijah, Ethan, Kenny Jr., Josh, Emily, Kenisha, Kelsey, Corey, Austin, Kaylie, Phoebe, Brant, Kylie, Chandler, and Lauren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Bessie Stienbarger, and his grandson, Kyle. Jerry will be remembered as a man of deep faith, gentle kindness, and unshakable integrity. With a quick smile and a great sense of humor, he brought warmth and light to all who knew him. His legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. He will be deeply missed. Funeral Services for Jerry Lee Stienbarger Sr. were held Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Grace Community Church with Pastor Terry Davis and Pastor Mickey Davis officiating. Special song selections were played. Serving as Pallbearers were Caleb Stienbarger, Jacob Stienbarger, Chris Gray, Chandler Gray, Michael Parks, and Mark Tune. Honorary Pallbearers were Ron Norris and Dennis Barnes. Military Honors was provided by the United States Air Force Honors Team. Burial was in the Smith Cemetery, Oates, Missouri.
