Jimmy Pryor

Jimmy Pryor was born on December 4, 1962, in Versailles, Missouri, and entered his Heavenly home on January 5, 2026, in Salem, Missouri. He was the son of Clarence and Helen Ruth (Albertson) Pryor. As a child, Jimmy was a rascal. He grew up in Brumley, Missouri, and had a lot of fun, sometimes getting into a lot of trouble—but not alone. He had his two older brothers, Duane and David, and lots of other cousins, to get into a lot of trouble with. In his younger days, he was known for taking big risks, having fun, and getting into some fights here and there, showing off those muscles—oh, how he was daring. But in his later years, Jimmy did settle down. He did not sit still, but he did settle down! Jimmy was united in marriage to Rhonda Wallis. This marriage blessed them with three children: Justin, Amanda, and Ashley. Jimmy was baptized in Sling Creek, Tuscumbia, Missouri, at an early age, and this profession of faith shined brightly to his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted father and provider who built his life around the happiness and well-being of his family. An entrepreneur at heart and a jack of all trades, if there was a problem, he would find clever ways to fix it. Throughout the years, he was a hard worker who took pride in his work. He was the manager at Taco Palace, managed and owned Put-n-Fun, JP’s Lawn Service, and much more. Jimmy truly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved landscaping, mowing lawns, and gardening. He loved his house and spending time with his dogs. But most important to him was his family and making memories with them. He was a present, faithful, and caring father. He was a loving and supportive Papa to his grandchildren. He loved his children: Justin Pryor and his wife, Brenna, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; Amanda Johnson and her husband, Johnny, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Ashley Polston and her husband, Blake, of Little Rock, Arkansas. He loved his brothers: Duane Pryor and his wife, Chris, of Versailles, Missouri, and David Pryor and his wife, Bonnie, of Brumley, Missouri. He also loved his grandchildren: Cordell, Miles, Jade, Josiah, Jayla, Jeremiah, Blakely, and Bella; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Helen Ruth (Albertson) Pryor. Jimmy loved God. He was creative, full of ideas, and loved building and making things. He believed in working hard, telling the truth, owning up to mistakes, and doing things right the first time. He worked hard to teach his children and grandchildren these same lessons. He was a conservative Christian who was very in tune with the times and wanted his family to be in tune with the times too. Jimmy never claimed to be perfect, but he did desire to do what pleased God and to show others the right path too. Jimmy will be missed, but as Christians, we know this is not the end. He is now in Heaven with his Heavenly Father, at peace, surrounded by more love than he has ever known. Memorial Services were held January 10, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Jimmy to Salem Pentecostal Church of God and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
