Johnnie Dwain Stroder

Johnnie Dwain Stroder was born August 10, 1960, in Salem, Missouri, to Virginia “Ginny” (Abney) Stroder. He passed away January 17, 2024, at his home in Boss, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years. Johnnie was a hard worker and always managed to keep himself busy. In his early years, he worked as a welder in St. Louis, Missouri. Johnnie also worked at the sawmills in the Boss area. He spent the last several years raising puppies and finding them good homes. Johnnie had an interest in photography and loved taking family photos. He loved the holidays, especially Christmas and family gatherings. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. He liked to go fishing and swimming in the creek. Johnnie enjoyed making jewelry with beads and deer horns. Johnnie leaves behind a loving family which includes his aunts and uncles: Connie Steelman and husband Steve, Cindy Callahan and husband Jerry, Phil Abney and wife Sammy, and Kathy Lough; cousins: Jonathan, Evan, Autumn and husband Trevor, Grant, Noah, Rachel and husband Dustin, Taylor, Emily and husband Bryer, Hailey, Nick and wife Ashley, Duke, Demi, Sarah and husband Joe, Cambria, Keegan, Sherry and spouse LeAnn, Avery, Shane and wife Rosa, Phillip, Hunter, Aaron, Yvette and husband Kiko, Tristan, Tanner, Corina and husband Robert, Trisha, Kyla, Scotty, Brandon and wife Summer, and Jacob; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death, mother: Ginny Stroder; grandparents: Virgil and Grace Abney; uncle: Brub Abney; and cousins: Baby Philip Abney and David Abney. Always thinking of others, he was a true inspiration to all he met. He was genuinely kindhearted and always had a smile and story to share. Johnnie will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Celebration of Life for Johnnie Dwain Stroder was held Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Tutor Hall, Boss, Missouri with Pastor Adam Asher officiating. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made in memory of Johnnie Stroder and left with Wilson Mortuary.
