Karen Christina (Wallis) Weed was born on May 23, 1975, in Rolla, Missouri to James and Rosie (Canaday) Wallis. Karen departed this life on August 25, 2021 in Salem, Missouri at the age of forty-six years. Karen grew up and attended school in Salem. She was a natural nurturer and worked as a caregiver most of her life. Karen was employed with Disabled Citizens Alliance, Salem Residential Care Center, as well as a Nursing Home in Eldon. Karen was very artistic and her creative ability was displayed in her drawings and paintings. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. Karen was a great cook and loved having her family and friends around her table. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed fishing. She loved discussing politics and she stood up for peoples rights. Karen would use her organizational skills to help plan fundraisers to help someone in need. She was very kind-natured and would give you the shirt off her back. Karen loved children and they loved her back. She had a special place in her heart for her dog, Lyla, but Karen adored all animals. She cherished her family and treasured the time spent with them. Karen was a woman of faith who attended Salem Full Gospel. Karen leaves behind to cherish her memories, her mother: Rosie Wallis of Salem, MO; siblings: Stanley Wallis and wife Liz of Salem, MO, Jeff Wallis and wife Jennifer of Salem, MO, Rodney Wallis and wife Shonda of Salem, MO, and Rhonda Pryor Mathis and husband Rick of Poplar Bluff, MO; special friends: Eric Weed of Malden, MO and Anthony Stewart of Salem, MO; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, her father: James "Jim" Wallis; grandparents: Abbott and Josephine Wallis, and Corb and Marie Canaday; nephew: Dylan Corbit Wallis; special friend: Becky Craft; several aunts and uncles. Karen will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those she touched with kindness and a warm smile. Family Funeral Services for Karen Christina (Wallis) Weed were held Monday, August 30, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Bill Stack officiating and several family members shared special memories. Special music was provided by Rodney Wallis singing "Go Rest High On That Mountain", and recording of Karen singing "Fire Away". Additional song selection played was "Scars In Heaven". Serving as Pallbearers were Eric Weed, Aaron Wallis, Justin Pryor, Shawn Wallis, Robby Wallis, Morgan Wallis, Nicole Wofford, and Alicia Bote. Honorary Pallbearers were Travis Wallis, Amanda Johnson, Ashley Polston, and Anthony Stewart. Graveside Services were held at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Karen Weed and left at Wilson Mortuary.
