Kay Marlene (Riley) Poole

Kay Marlene (Riley) Poole was born July 2, 1939, in Denison, Texas, to Lewis and Dorothy (Arnold) Riley. Kay grew up and attended school in Denison. Kay married the love of her life, Charles Robert Poole, on December 31, 1955, at the age of sixteen years. They shared nearly seventy years of love and memories together. Kay and Charles were blessed with three remarkable sons: Mark, Robert, and Gary. While Charles was in the service, Kay traveled with him as often as possible. Some of their most memorable times were spent in Bermuda while he was stationed there. Kay made her career as a Senior Vice President in the loan department at Bank of America. Kay worked there from 1975 through 1997 and stayed with the bank through three turnovers with the bank going from Arizona Bank to Security Pacific Bank before becoming Bank of America. Kay retired after twenty-two years of service and dedication. Kay and Charles shared a passion for bowling. Many nights were spent on the bowling lanes, as they were part of several different leagues over the years. Kay had a kind and generous heart, and that was very easy to see in her homemade cards. Kay would make personalized cards for family, friends, and anyone else who was part of her life. The cards were mailed out for birthdays, holidays, good times, and bad. She put thought and love into each one that she crafted. For forty years Kay has been keeping the tradition alive of making peanut butter balls and hosting Christmas breakfast for her family. This is a tradition that she picked up from her mother and it continues to this day. Kay cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a woman of faith and attended church for many years at Southside Church of Christ in Cabot, Arkansas. Kay departed this life on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Salem, Missouri. She is survived by her loving husband: Charles Poole of Salem, Missouri, formerly of Surprise, Arizona; sons: Mark Poole of Oklahoma, and Robert Poole and wife Kim of Salem, Missouri, formerly of Surprise, Arizona: grandchildren: Kim, Jenni, Aubrey, Alyssa, Gary, Logan, Colby, and Kristian; many great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Lewis and Dorothy (Arnold) Riley; son: Gary Poole; and grandson: Mark Poole. Kay will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those she touched with kindness. Memorial Services for Kay Marlene Poole were held Saturday, September 28, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Charlie Younger officiating. Special Memories were shared by her loving grandsons. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “I’ll Fly Away”.
