Keith Golden

Keith Golden was born on December 11, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the only son born to Sherman Ray and Glenda “Glenna” (Pryor) Golden. Keith grew up in Salem and graduated with the class of 1986 from Salem High School. Keith met the woman of his dreams, Lorie Ann (Barton) Goodbar, during training at US Foods. They fell in love and were united in marriage on August 10, 1997, in Black, Missouri. Keith and Lorie were blessed to share three children, Brett, Canyon, and Kirsten who later blessed them with seven wonderful grandchildren. Keith worked hard to provide for his family, after his driving career with US Foods, he started working at the South Central Correctional Center as a correctional officer. He served for many years and was looking forward to retirement in February 2025. In his spare time, Keith enjoyed spending time outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting on his property and fishing at Montauk. He was a collector of many things and had a unique collection of coins, baseball cards, knives, fishing reels, and guns. Keith was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. He had a passion and love for all Pontiac cars, especially his 1978 Trans-Am. Throughout the years he has had several cars restored. Keith was big into music, movies, and history. He was his families go to guy for any information they needed. His love for his furbabies, Buddy and Rudy, was evident. His family was his pride and joy, especially his precious grandbabies. Keith departed this life December 22, 2024, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years. He leaves behind his loving wife: Lorie Golden of Salem, MO; children: Brett Capps of St. Louis, MO, Canyon Goodbar and wife Tiffany of Salem, MO, and Kirsten Chapman and husband Jacob of Jefferson, City, MO; grandchildren: Serenity, Brentley, Braylee, Rylee, Carter, Piper, and Paxton; his special sister and brother-in-law: Lisa Roberts and husband Steve; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Sherman and Glenna Golden. Keith had a stubborn side, but his fun-loving, goofy nature always came through. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Keith Golden were held December 26, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Special music was provided by Brett Capps and additional song selections played were “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and “Yesterday When I Was Young”. Serving as Pallbearers were Wade McCarter, Steve Pryor, Denny Clayton, Robert Hagen, Laverne Stricklin, and Chad Conway. Honorary Pallbearers were his loving grandsons Brentley, Carter, and Paxton.
