Linda Sue (Lewis) Edwards

Linda Sue (Lewis) Edwards was born February 26, 1947 in Eminence, Missouri to Ramie and Freida Josephine (Dooley) Lewis. She grew up in Dent County, Missouri and graduated from Salem High School with the class of 1964. Linda married her high school sweetheart, Larry Wilgus Edwards, July 3, 1964 at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Salem. Linda and Larry were blessed with fifty-seven years of marriage and two daughters, Carmen and Charlene. Linda was a dedicated worker and started her working career with Craig Distributing where she figured commission for salesmen. After five years, she decided to become a stay at home mom. Once her girls were grown, Linda and Larry operated a Montgomery Ward catalog agency from 1975-1985 before she went to work at Hillcrest Flower Shop. It was there which got her interested in the flower business and in 1993, Linda opened Designing Ideas Florist operating until 2015 when she decided to retire and help Larry with Larinda’s Auction and Furniture Store. Linda enjoyed attending auctions and flea markets were her passion. She valued spending time with her family, especially watching her grandson, Austin play sports and making memories with her granddaughter, Brooke. One of their favorite things to do when Brooke was about 4, was Brooke playing with all of Grandma’s jewelry. Linda loved to cook and treasured the time spent as a family gathered at her home. Linda hosted many Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter Sunrise Services at their home. Her family was most important to her and she adored her great-granddaughter and was looking forward to the arrival of baby Poppy. Linda was a lady of great faith and longtime member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was active in the community and her kind, compassionate, loving heart never went unnoticed. Linda departed this life on October 9, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home in Salem, Missouri. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving husband Larry Edwards of the home; daughters: Carmen Vaughan and husband Randall of Salem, MO and Charlene Rogers of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Austin Rogers and wife Whitney of Salem, MO and Brooke Rogers of Salem, MO; great-grandchildren: Stella and Baby Poppy; sisters: Shirley Turner and husband Tom of Illinois and Tammy Sutterfield of Nebraska; brothers: Jack Lewis and wife Laura of Florida and Ray Lewis of Salem, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death, parents: Ramie and Freida Lewis and brothers: Floyd and Larry Lewis. Linda was one of a kind, she was the life of the party and knew how to light up the room with her bright mile wide smile and spunky personality. Her wonderful memories she left for everyone that knows her will live on forever. Funeral Services for Linda Sue (Lewis) Edwards were held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Bill Stack and Sheri Stack officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “Scars In Heaven”, “Will You Remember Me”, “Precious Memories”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, and “Dancing In The Sky”. Serving as Pallbearers were Jason Sutterfield, Jake Sutterfield, Mike Turner, Andy Turner, Andrew Lewis, Steve Lewis, and Eric Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers were Brad Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, Tim White, J Clark, and David Sutton. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Linda Edwards to the Josie Abney Flower Fund at the Beehive Florist and left at Wilson Mortuary.
