Linda Gale (Goodrich) Lewis

Linda Gale (Goodrich) Lewis, born September 29, 1947, at home in Colley Holler, near Waynesville, Missouri, passed away December 22, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years. Linda, affectionately known by her middle name, Gale was the daughter of Riley and Ruth (Anderson) Goodrich. She graduated in 1965 from Waynesville High School and started her working career with the HD Lee Factory and worked for many years until they closed. Then from August 1998 until September 2007, she worked on the assembly line at Briggs and Stratton. Gale retired from EDP Enterprises after many dedicated years as a cook. Gale was blessed to be the mother of daughters: Kerri, Pam, and Carla, and sons: Ted and Blake. She was a proud grandmother and even prouder great-grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she treasured the time spent making memories with them. Gale was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Eugene Lewis, July 22, 2000, in Philadelphia, Missouri, and shared together eighteen years of memories before his passing October 8, 2018. For the last few years, she has enjoyed the companionship with her special friend, Roger Carroll. Gale led a very active social life well into her later years. She was always on the move and going places. Driving around town, walking, and shopping were some of her favorite things to do. Gale was always put together well and strived to look her best on every occasion. Above all, Gale valued her family and friends. She was selfless, always putting others first, and the most devoted and loving mother and grandmother to the greatest blessings in her life. Her happiest moments were enjoying life with her family and friends. Gale is survived by her children: Kerri Brown of Olympia, WA, Pam Posten and Mathew of Richland, MO, Carla Posten of Richland, MO, and Blake Posten and Lisa of Portland, ND; sisters: Mary Lou Ellzey and Wes of Waynesville, MO, Naiah Baker of Shelbina, MO, and Diann Goodrich of Laquey, MO; special friend: Roger Carroll; a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were husband: Bob Lewis; son: Ted Posten; parents: Riley and Ruth (Anderson) Goodrich; and brother-in-law: Keith Baker. Gale loved to laugh and found a reason to laugh every day, brightening the lives of those around her. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, quick wit, and positive spirit. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her most. Celebration of Life Services were held December 26, 2025, at Buckhorn Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating.
