Lou Ann (Buckner) Edgar

Lou Ann (Buckner) Edgar was born August 15, 1930, in Kinderpost Missouri, to Seba Charles and Grace Maud (Morse) Buckner. She grew up in Licking, Missouri, and graduated in 1947 at the age of sixteen from Licking High School. After high school, Lou Ann furthered her education obtaining her teaching certificate and taught at Walnut Ridge School. Lou Ann was united in marriage to the love of her life, Wilton “Wil” Earnie Edgar, April 23, 1949, in Houston, Missouri. Together they shared sixty-five years of marriage and memories before his passing October 21, 2014. Lou Ann and Wil were blessed with seven children: Stan, Jeff, Jake, Janet, Ross, Fred, and Stephen. Lou Ann was a dedicated homemaker and took great pride in raising her family and caring for her home. She loved watching Hallmark movies, gardening, and tending to her flower beds. Lou Ann enjoyed painting and making pressed flower pictures. Lou Ann was devoted to her family and cherished making memories with them. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was involved in all aspects of their lives. She had a special bond with each of them, and their accomplishments made her extremely proud. Lou Ann was a lady of great faith and a longtime member of the Rolla Church of the Nazarene. She truly enjoyed reading and studying her Bible as well as teaching the little ones in Sunday School. Lou Ann entered eternal rest July 11, 2023, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years. She leaves behind to treasure her memory, loving children: Jeff Edgar and wife Cindy of Sebring, FL, Jake Edgar and wife Angel of Edgar Springs, MO, Janet Williams and husband Ed of St. James, MO, Ross Edgar and wife Cindy of Merriam, KS, and Fred Edgar and wife Terri of Lowell, AR; grandchildren: Lance Edgar, Carolynn Bauer and husband Jeffrey, Amber Pryor and husband Stuart, Kreisa Edgar, Caleb Edgar and wife Ellen, Rachel Bowman and husband George, Sarah Hernandez and husband Leo, and Marissa Nigh; step-grandson: Donovan Reno and wife Melissa; great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Caroline, Stanley, Luke, Jayden, Emma, Hadley, Will, Sammy, Henry, Gentry, and Lucy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Wilton “Wil” Edgar; son: Stan Edgar; infant son: Stephan Edgar; grandson: Jeremy Williams; parents: Seba and Grace Buckner; and all her siblings. Lou Ann lived a long and full life, sharing her loving, caring nature with family and friends. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Lou Ann (Buckner) Edgar were held Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Ron Sluder officiating. Song selection played was “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone”, and two special videos were played. Serving as Pallbearers were Jeffrey Bauer, George Bowman, Caleb Edgar, Lance Edgar, Leo Hernandez, Luke Pryor, Stuart Pryor, and Stanley Williams. Burial was in the Roseberry Cemetery, Edgar Springs, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
