Lyndon Lee Cox

Lyndon Lee Cox was born on September 2, 1960, in Rolla, Missouri to Arthur and Alice (Reed) Cox and passed away on June 16, 2020, at Phelps Health Rolla at age of fifty-nine years. Lyndon grew up and attended school in Belle, Missouri. He was a hard worker and liked the simple farming life. Lyndon valued the time on his tractor in the hayfield and raising cattle and hogs. He was a family man and proud father of his five children: Katina, Mary, Justin, Curtis, and Travis. Lyndon loved them dearly and truly cherished the time spent with them and treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lyndon was a well known social butterfly and enjoyed people watching from his front porch with a cold beer in one hand and a friendly wave with the other. He was a selfless man who had a strong faith and a giving heart. Lyndon was a true outdoorsman and liked to hunt as well as collect John Deere Tractors. Lyndon is survived by his loving children: Katina Champney and husband Richard of Salem, MO, Mary Schlicker and husband Mickey of Salem, MO; Justin Cox of Salem, MO, and Curtis Cox and wife Chaney of Oklahoma; siblings: Ronnie Cox and wife Kathy of Belle, MO, Vicky Caswell and husband Marcus of Michigan, Monica Valley and husband Charles of Belle, MO, Erwin Cox and wife Laura of Belle, MO, Wesley Cox and wife Tina of Belle, MO, and Beverly Murphy of Belle, MO; twenty-five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. Preceding him in death were his son: Travis Cox; parents: Arthur and Alice Cox; grandson: Seth Champney; and brother: John Cox. Lyndon was one of a kind and well-loved. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Lyndon Lee Cox were held Monday, June 22, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Brandon Hall officiating. Song selections played were "On The Other Side", "Daddy's Girl", and "Go Rest High On That Mountain". Serving as Pallbearers were Trenton Kinsey, John Valley, Jon Valley, Matthew Walls, Joseph Walls, and Nathan Valley. Honorary Pallbearers were Anthony Valley and Victor Moss. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
