Mary Ann (Britton) Boxx

Mary Ann (Britton) Boxx was born April 30, 1955 in Mongo, Indiana to Raymond Wilsey and Gladys Victoria (Spain) Britton. She grew up in Howes Mill, Missouri and attended Stone Hill School and Salem High School. Mary met the love of her life, Tommy Clinton Boxx at the age of twelve and on June 23, 1972 they were united in marriage. Mary and Tommy were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Kimberly, Leslie, and Hope. Mary had a lifelong passion for helping others, she was a caregiver for the mentally disabled and has helped many families in the Dent County Community. Her kindness, compassion, and thoughtfulness were limitless as she was consistently thinking of others and their well-being. Mary was always smiling and a joy to be around. She enjoyed using her talented hands to crochet afghans, doilies, tablecloths, and dolls. Mary was very family-oriented and loved spending time with her family. She like traveling, family cruises, and looked forward to big family reunions. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest treasures and she cherished the memories made with them. Mary was sweet, loving, caring, kind, and patient. Her faith was important to her, she was saved at the age of fifteen while attending Locust Grove United Baptist Church. She was a member of Revival Tabernacle. Mary departed this life on September 21, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois at the age of sixty-six years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband Tommy Boxx of the home; daughters: Kimberly Schafer and husband Dewayne, Leslie Murr and husband Mike, and Hope Donnelly and husband Tim all of Salem, MO; siblings: Wilma Jean Lewis, Janet Stacy and husband Archie, Leon Britton and wife Debbie, Judy Boxx and husband Danny, and Patty Connors and husband Steve all of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Nathan and wife Sydney, Alec and wife Katelyn, Zach and wife Sarah, Brandon and wife Ashley, Haley, Johnathan, Noah, Isaiah, and Gabriel on the way; great-grandchildren: Bentley, Easton, Carson, Dustin, Sean, Levi, and Atlas on the way; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death, parents: Raymond and Gladys Britton; and brothers: Junior Britton, Leroy Britton and wife Connie, and Robert Britton. Mary will be remembered by her family as a devoted wife, perfect mother, proud grandmother, doting great-grandmother, loving sister, and caring aunt. Her beautiful spirit will live on in the lives she has touched along the way. Funeral Services for Mary Ann (Britton) Boxx were held Monday, September 27, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Elder Billy Mathes officiating and Nathan Boxx sharing a testimony. Special Music was provided by Pat Connors singing “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be” and “When We All Get To Heaven”, additional song selection played was “Lead Me Home”. Serving as Pallbearers were Nathan Boxx, Alec Schafer, Brandon Murr, Zach Schafer, Johnathan Murr, Tristan Newman, and Eli Newman. Honorary Pallbearers were Haley Murr and Ethan Newman. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Mary Boxx and left at Wilson Mortuary.
