Melva Imogene (Thompson) Terrill

Melva Imogene (Thompson) Terrill was born January 6, 1938 in Dent County, Missouri to Arthur and Bertha (Richards) Thompson and passed away June 2, 2020 SSM Health Hospital St. Clare-Fenton at the age of eighty-two years. Melva grew up and attended school in Salem, Missouri. On June 10, 1982 she was united in marriage to Joy Edward Terrill and together they shared thirty-seven years of memories and were blessed to share five children: Tracy, LaDana, Christine, Missy, and Matthew. Melva took great pride in caring for her family and for others as a Caretaker with Enrichment Services. She was full of love and cared for all people, anything she could do to help others was her primary concern. Melva loved those she worked with and enjoyed bringing value to their lives. Melva was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a woman of faith with a servant’s heart and enjoyed attending Worship Services. Melva treasured the time spent ministering to the children there and throughout the years has served in several areas to include Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Vacation Bible School. In her spare time, Melva could be found reading, usually Christian books, and eating caramel candies. She liked to shop and enjoyed her flower garden. Most important to Melva was her family. She cherished the time spent with them and treasured the time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Melva is survived by her loving husband Joy Edward Terrill of the home; children: Christine Colvin of Fenton, MO, Missy Williams and husband Carl of Salem, MO, Matthew Brooks and wife Angela of Rolla, MO; brother: Larry Thompson and wife Pat of Arnold, MO; grandchildren: Brooke Williams, Zachariah Bennett, Josh Wisdom and wife Kayla, Corey Williams and wife Trisha, Jeff Daboin and wife Nicole, Amanda Murr and husband Curt, Caila Bennett, Buddy Daboin, Kristy Cusack and husband Sean, Jesslyn Hutchings and husband Dan, Brendan Ferguson, Brandon Ferguson, Aaron Gorman, and Aaron Brooks; great-grandchildren: Sophia, Darren, Gavin, Wiley, Dellamae, Olivia, Calvin, Grant, Preston, Natalie, Jeremiah, Jenna, Benjamin, Rhi, Daxton, Olliver, and Zaron Allen; extended family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Arthur and Bertha Thompson; infant son: Tracy Darrell Brooks; daughter: LaDana Ferguson; and many siblings. Melva will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was an amazing, friendly and gentle person, loved by many. She will be deeply missed. Funeral Services for Melva Imogene (Thompson) Terrill were held Friday, June 5, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor John Smith and Pastor Rocky Lindley officiating. Song selection played was “I Can Only Imagine” and special music by Matthew Brooks singing “Grace” followed by “Amazing Grace”. Serving as Pallbearers were Buddy Daboin, Jeff Daboin, Aaron Brooks, Josh Wisdom, Brendan Ferguson, Brandon Ferguson, Zach Bennett, Dan Hutchings, and Curt Murr. Honorary Pallbearer was Corey Wisdom. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Melva Imogene (Thompson) Terrill to Oak Grove Baptist Church and left at Wilson Mortuary.
