Mildred "Millie" Ovine (Estes) White

Mildred “Millie” Ovine (Estes) White was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 19, 1941, to Robert and Ethal (Bowen) Estes. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1960, to the love of her life, Elzia Ray White. Millie and Elzia were blessed with one son, Michael Ray. She was a devoted homemaker, supporting wife, and devoted mother. Millie truly treasured the time spent with her family. Millie was gifted with talented hands and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and quilt making. In her younger years she designed and sewed her own dresses. She liked watching the Cardinals and Gunsmoke. Millie loved tending to her flower beds and enjoyed watching the birds. Millie was a lady of great faith and mighty prayer warrior. She has been attending Locust Grove United Baptist Church since 1970. Millie was a dedicated member and for many years served as the Sunday School Clerk. She always made sure the communion tablecloths were ironed and wrinkle free. Millie loved serving the Lord and fellowshiping with her church family. Millie entered eternal rest on July 28, 2023, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of sixty-three years: Elzia White of Salem, MO; son Michael White of Salem, MO; sister: Jean Nash of Washington, MO; sisters-in-law: Alma McWhorter and husband Virgil of Salem, MO and Joyce Mason of Black, MO; special friends: Steve and Pat Connors; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Robert and Ethal Estes; sisters: Mary and Dorothy; brothers: Claude, Tom, and Cliff; father and mother-in-law: Milton and Velma White; and brothers-in-law: Curtis White, Cecil White, and Noel Mason. Her sweet spirit and kind nature will never be forgotten. Millie will be deeply missed by her family, church family, and many friends. Funeral Services for Mildred “Millie” Ovine (Estes) White were held Monday, July 31, 2023, at Locust Grove United Baptist Church with Elder Keith Barton and Pastor Bill Mathes officiating. Special Music was provided by Steve and Pat Connors. Serving as Pallbearers were Curtis White, Dennis White, Noel Mason, Steve Connors, Lyndle Ratliff, and Kevin Volner. Honorary Pallbearer was Michael White. Burial was in the Myers Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
