Pauline (Pannebecker) Helms

Pauline (Pannebecker) Helms was born June 4, 1928 in Glover, Missouri to Oliver R. and Sarah Elzona (Dodson) Pannebecker. Pauline was from a large family; she was one of eight and a twin. Her family moved frequently with her father’s job in the timber industry. Pauline was united in marriage to the love of her life, Darrell Eugene Helms October 4, 1946 and shared together forty-one years before his passing January 28, 1987. Pauline and Darrell were blessed with three daughters: Patty, Debby, and Barb. They raised their family in Leadwood, Missouri until 1964 when they made Viburnum, Missouri their home. Pauline was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was deeply committed to raising her family and making a house a home. Pauline was an extremely proud grandmother and leaves a beautiful legacy that will be carried for generations to come. In her younger years, Pauline enjoyed golfing, horseshoe pitching, camping, and bowling. She liked to quilt and do wordsearch puzzles. Pauline loved to read, especially her Bible. She was the eldest living member at the First Baptist Church of Viburnum and considered them a part of her family. Pauline attended Sunday School and Worship as often as she could and liked to help in the kitchen. Pauline entered into eternal rest August 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Viburnum, Missouri at the age of ninety-four years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory loving daughters: Patty Carmier and husband Bruce of Viburnum, MO and Barb Russell and husband Steve of Viburnum, MO; sister: Janet Canter of Farmington, MO; grandchildren: Kristi Parker and husband Terry, Nick Hedrick and wife Kristy, Bethany Russell, and Latisha Russell; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Olivia, and Paisley; great-great-granddaughter: Alayna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Darrell Eugene Helms; daughter: Debby Helms; parents: Oliver and Sarah Pannebecker; siblings: Edna Reagan and husband Rudy, Dora Helms and husband Lloyd, Harve Pannebecker, Nadine Pannebecker, Gerry Grider and husband “Dinger”, twin brother Paul Pannebecker and wife Rowena, and George Pannebecker and wife Lois. Pauline lived a long and remarkably full life. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, kind nature, and her beautiful contagious smile. Pauline will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Pauline (Pannebecker) Helms were held Friday, August 19, 2022 at the First Baptist Church Viburnum, Missouri with Pastor Justin Perry officiating. Song selections played were “Blessed Assurance” and “When We All Get To Heaven”. Serving as Pallbearers were Bruce Carmier, Steve Russell, Kristi Parker, Nick Hedrick, Kaitlyn Parker, Terry Parker, Greg Lashley, and Kevin Lashley. Honorary Pallbearers were Bethany Russell, Latisha Russell, Olivia Parker, and Kristy Hedrick. Burial was in the Leadwood Protestant Cemetery, Leadwood, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Pauline Helms to Love Thy Neighbor and left with Wilson Mortuary.
