Richard Lee White

Richard Lee White was born April 28, 1965, in Rolla, Missouri. He was born to Lawrence and Bertha (Thompson). He grew up in Salem, Missouri and was blessed with three wonderful children: Heather, Shiloh, and Richie. On March 15, 2023, Richard was united in marriage to Tonya (Roark) Akers and to this union gained three children: Dominic, Daimon, and Lily. Although their time together was short, they were blessed to make many lasting memories. Richard was the owner/operator of Richard White Trucking LLC since 2019. He was thought highly of, loyal, honest, and dedicated to his local community and the surrounding area. Richard took great pride in his career and taught his children the value of hard work. Richard loved to play the guitar, ride his Harley, go horseback riding, and fish at the family pond. His children were the apple of his eye, and he loved watching them learn and grow into young adults. He was always ready to give them advice and help them if they needed it. Richard was a man of faith and true inspiration to those around him. He was saved and baptized at Round Pond Baptist Church. Richard enjoyed fellowship with others, reading his Bible, and was faithfully attending Gear City Church in Rolla. Richard departed this life November 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at home in Salem, Missouri. Those left behind to treasure his memory are his loving wife: Tonya White of Salem, MO; children: Heather White and boyfriend Jorge of Salem, MO, Shiloh White of Salem, MO, Dominic Akers and wife Avery of Rolla, MO, Daimon Akers and girlfriend Emily of St. James, MO, and Lily Akers of Salem, MO; siblings: Butch White and wife Shirley Jo of Salem, MO, Barry White and wife Lavonda of Steelville, MO, Donna Phillips and husband Rick of Salem, MO, and Debbie Jennings of Salem, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a community of friends. Preceding him in death, son: Richie White; parents: Lawrence and Bertha White; and sister: Teresa Medlock. Richard was a friend and brother to many. He was an all-around great guy and would do anything for anybody. He was fun to be around and will be greatly missed. Celebration of Life for Richard Lee White was held Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Casey Reed officiating. Special Music was provided by Sheri Stack singing “Amazing Grace” and additional song selections played were “Beat You There”, “Lead Me Home”, Go Rest High on That Mountain”, and “Give Heaven Some Hell”. Arrangements were under direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Richard White to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and left with Wilson Mortuary.
