Robert "Bob" Glen Baker

Robert Glen Baker was born November 9, 1949, in Gladden, Missouri. He was the son of Elijah and Lelia (Wilcox) Baker. Bob grew up in Dent County surrounded by a large family of nine siblings. He attended Oak Hill R-1 School. Bob was a hard worker and started his first job at a young age with MFA Feed Store. He then started working at the charcoal plant until the strike in 1996. Afterwards, Bob relocated to Lebanon, Missouri where he worked at Marathon Electric until he retired in 2016. Bob was the proud father of his children Christopher, Lisa, and Jacob, and even prouder grandfather to Grayson and Myah. His life was defined by his unwavering love for his family. He cherished the memories they made together, especially those fishing with his son in his younger years. As an avid Kansas City Chiefs Fan, Bob never missed watching a game. He also enjoyed watching hockey and baseball. He liked keeping his mind active in many ways and often played Rummy, Checkers, and trivia games. He was a man of faith, and his faith grew tremendously throughout his later years. Bob entered eternal rest February 19, 2025, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years. He is survived by his son: Christopher Baker and wife Courtney of Salem, MO; daughter: Lisa Norris and husband James; son: Jacob Lewellen and wife Jen; siblings: Geneva Counts of Salem, MO, James Baker and wife Delene of Salem, MO, Ruby Byfield of Salem, MO, Norma McGuirk and husband John of Cuba, MO, and Gene Baker of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Grayson and Myah; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Elijah and Lelia Baker; and siblings: Carl Baker, Don Baker, Dale Baker, and Bonnie Baker. Bob leaves behind a lasting legacy that will live on through his family. He will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Memorial Services for Robert “Bob” Glen Baker were held Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with John Westerman officiating. Song selections played were “How Do You Do?”, “Imagine”, and “Good Times Over”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
