Rosemary (Bristow) Harris

Rosemary (Bristow) Harris was born September 3, 1944, in Sullivan, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles Robert and Opal (Feltz) Bristow. Rosemary passed away peacefully September 4, 2025, at her home in Willard, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years. On September 29, 1962, Rosemary was united in marriage to the love of her life, James “Jim” Wellington Harris. Rosemary and Jim were blessed with two children: Christy and Robert. They shared sixty-two years raising a family together. They enjoyed living in Salem, Missouri for almost forty years in a home that Jim and Rob built. They were fortunate to spend time with family there and made many new friends. They created many lasting memories before Jim’s passing on September 14, 2024. Rosemary was an entrepreneur at heart. She was a talented cosmetologist and owned and operated Rosemary’s Coiffures and Rosemary’s Beauty Shop. Rosemary and Jim worked together in several business endeavors, including Jim’s Restaurant. Rosemary was an excellent cook and was famous for her fried chicken, biscuits, potato salad, and watergate salad. She was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan. She thought that Jim looked just like him and would often tell people that she married “her Elvis.” She had fond memories of Jim singing “Love Me Tender” to her, including on their wedding night. Rosemary cherished spending time with her family, especially with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter and their families. She and Jim enjoyed long visits with their grandchildren during the summer months. She was everyone’s favorite aunt and was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews, as well as by all who had the privilege to know her. Rosemary was raised in the Baptist faith. At the age of twenty-eight, she was baptized at Crane Creek along with her son. Her kind heart, gentle nature, and selfless spirit was evident in every aspect of her life. Rosemary leaves behind to treasure her memory her loving family which includes, her son: Rob Harris and wife Laura of Ozark, MO; daughter: Christy Dixon and husband Rob of Willard, MO; grandchildren: Samantha Reed and husband Chance, Austin Harris and fiancé Shanna See, and Taylor Dixon; great-grandchild: Charlie and another on the way; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: James “Jim” Harris; parents: Charles “Robert” and Opal (Feltz) Bristow; sisters: Dorothy Morris, Shirley Keogh, and Jerry Ellis; a brother: Johnny Bristow and two half-brothers: Charles and Robert Bristow. Rosemary will be remembered for her kindness towards others, her devotion to family, and the legacy of love, faith, and strength she leaves behind. Her incredible mark on those who loved her most will be forever remembered. She will be deeply missed. Funeral Services for Rosemary (Bristow) Harris were held Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Ron Marsh officiating and sharing letters written from her loving family. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace” and “Parting Blessing”. Serving as Pallbearers were Austin Harris, Ronnie Rebura, Randy Rebura, Rick Rebura, Chance Reed, Orvin Harris, Allen Simpson, and Emery Harris. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
