Scott Allen Huff

Scott Allen Huff was born on November 16, 1966, in Fredericktown, Missouri, to Ronald and Ann (Bowen) Huff. He grew up in Boss and graduated from Viburnum High School in 1985. Scott furthered his education at Missouri State University and the University of Missouri -Rolla, earning his associate degree. On December 5, 1990, Scott was united in marriage to Trish Redding, and together they were blessed with two sons, Austin and Blake. Scott and Trish built a life filled with love and dedication to their family. They shared twenty-five wonderful years together before her passing on November 2, 2015. Scott later married his sweetheart, Misty Barton, on June 20, 2020, gaining two more children, Nina and Drew. Scott and Misty created many lasting memories while traveling and camping. They loved visiting Hawaii and often camped at Norfork Lake. In his late twenties, after college, Scott began working at the Doe Run Company. His strong work ethic led him to a successful career as an Assistant Chief Surveyor. Prior to that, he worked with Kraft Craig for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, turkey hunting in the Mark Twain National Forest and fishing at Norfork Lake. Scott was a quiet but joyful man. He didn’t have to say much—his actions spoke for him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his thoughtfulness and generosity. Above all, his family was most important to him. After the passing of his father, he took excellent care of his mother. His great-nephews, Graham and Granger, were his world—he loved them as if they were his own grandsons. A man of unwavering faith, Scott was a longtime and dedicated member of Boss Assembly of God Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was known for his generosity, helpfulness, and commitment to serving others. Scott entered eternal rest on March 7, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight. He is survived by his loving wife, Misty Huff of Boss, MO; sons, Austin Huff and wife Ana of Joplin, MO, and Blake Huff of Joplin, MO; stepchildren, Nina Howard of Jefferson City, MO, and Drew Howard of Salem, MO; mother, Ann Huff of Boss, MO; sister-in-law, Melissa Huff; niece and nephew, Kristin Huff, Logan Huff and wife Kelly, brother-in-law Steve Redding and wife Rhian, sister-in-law Sue Hamilton and husband Mike, nieces and nephews Bobby Redding and wife Lily, Tammy Weible and husband Kyle, Ben Hamilton and wife Kate, Emily Salcido and husband Cameron, and Haylie Hamilton; great-nephews, Graham and Granger; as well as extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ron Huff; brother, David Huff; and his first wife and the mother of his sons, Trish Huff. Scott was always kind, had a great sense of humor, and was a good friend to everyone. His legacy will continue to inspire others for years to come. He will be deeply missed. Funeral Services for Scott Huff were held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Boss Assembly of God Church with Pastor Paul Davis and Dearsey Ratliff officiating. Special Music was provided by Jim Pryor, Kyle Major, and Dave Major. Serving as Pallbearers were Blake Skaggs, Rich Skaggs, Larry Barton, Logan Huff, Chad Pettus, Keith Peirce, Hunter Peirce, and Randy Stack. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery.
